Is LeCellier Fun For Kids?

Taking our DS8 and DD5 for their 1st trip. We already have WCC, O'Hana's, CRT, Garden Grill and I am trying to decide btw Coral Reef or LeCellier for last ADR.

Not everything has to about the kids , but just wondering, is LeCellier fun for kids?

There is no "fun" activities like Ohanas or WCC, but all of our children LOVE the food and look foward to going every year!

The food is great, but "fun" isn't the first word I'd come up with for Le Cellier. But kids seem to like it (when I've been).

We had terrible service (A fluke, can happen anywhere) and our kids got extremely restless, to the point that DH and I had to take turns outside the restaurant. My kids eat out a lot and know how to behave in restaurants, this was just beyond their endurance (3 hours!). I'd bring some distractions for them and probably tell your server upfront that they can bring courses fairly swiftly.

My kids liked it because the food was good and they like to eat out no matter where it is. It scores VERY low on the fun scale though. We've eaten at Le Cellier, Coral Reef, Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's, Sci-Fi, 50s Prime Time, and Whispering Canyon...Le Cellier is BY FAR the least "fun" of them all.

Go with Coral Reef. DD was so bored at Le Cellier the two times we are there. It isnt fun when the kid is itching to leave and you want to eat. Coral Reef had better food and the tanks would keep children busy for hours.

When asked where to eat on this trip both Dh and DD asked for the fish tank place again.

DD7 requested to go back to Le Cellier. She liked the smoothie and the dessert.

On the other hand that assumes they think real food is great food. I have no idea about a kids menu there.

I would not consider it fun for kids. The tables are so close together I was afraid my kids would bother the people sitting next to us.

When we ate there in Jan '06 they had just awsome desserts for kids. One of them was a Chocolate Moose. And I do mean A Chocolate Moose! It was shaped like one!

I have two DDs ages 4 and 6 (when we travel they will be at least). I was debating between Coral Reef and Le Cellier too! I finally decided on Le Cellier. I believe the kids would have enjoyed the view better at Coral Reef, but they wouldn't have liked ANYTHING on the menu (and seriously, I don't eat ANY seafood, but I think I could have found something).

I am viewing this as the compromise Every other TS meal is a character meal. This one is for me and DH

On our trip a few years ago despite the meal taking a very very long time the kids loved the chicken tenders and cool kids desserts (smores and moose). Now the new kids menu has no chicken tenders (they do have steak but my kids don't eat steak) and everything else was the same not so good food we got everywhere else. This was actually the worst place as they would not allow us any substitutions on the kdis menu. The cool desserts are now only on teh adult menu so kids get the same ice cream or fruit cup they get everywhere else. My kids don't want to go back now. Frankly, our food wasn't so good on our last visit either.....

Oh NO!!! now I'm worried. I have an ADR and we have a 6 year old and a 3 year old. Last year we ate at Alfredo's and liked it but the service took forever too and I ended up leaving with the VERY ANTSY kids as my DH waited for the bill. We are doing 2 meals at Epcot and I had one Coral Reef, the other LeCellier. SHOOT!

Bummer you're right!!!! I just checked the menu...no chocolate moose or s'mores on the kids menu or adult menu!!
I'll have to rethink if we want to go back now.
My DD 9 doesn't like to eat anything except mac and cheese and sweets and the dessent was the only reason she agreed to go back to Le' Cellier. That being said, to the OP............ try Coral Reef if you think your kids would like the menu. The divers are cool and the fish beautiful. The only fun thing Le Cellier offered for kids saddly is gone...

I read your trip report from last year a while ago. It is one of the reasons I chose the Wilderness Lodge for this trip. Good luck with your upcoming trip-I think I am going to go with Coral Reef and Garden Grill for our two Epcot ADRs this time.

Our experience was the same last year with our kids (DS 12 and DD). It was definitely the longest meal of our trip and the kids were antsy by the end. There really is no "fun" factor there - hubby and I loved the food but it was just OK for the kids. The only reason they wanted to go back this time was the Chocolate Moose - but we opted for Coral Reef instead.

Can you please direct me to the menu you are talking about?? We were there in February and the kids were old enough to choose from the adult lunch menu and they had the chocolate mousse and s'mores. We are planning to go back in October and this is one that we want to repeat. If they have changed menu's since February, we may re-think it.
