I know it isn't. I mean, I've seen the huge roller coasters and everything. But maybe it still has some of my favorites. I was last there almost 30-years ago. Does it still have the cool old west stuff? The crooked house? Gold mining? The bandits on the train? The runaway mine ride? The grave with the beating heart? I was just remembering all of that stuff and wondered if it's still there. Does it still have a 1920's section? I sure hope it hasn't bleached out all of it's character in favor of thrill rides.

Sorry but no it's not the same place it once was. Some is now gone, and it's full of steel coasters now. Simply put, it has changed from theme park to thrill park. If you are going expect it to be different, not the same.

The crooked house? no
Gold mining? yes (if you meant panning for for gold)
The bandits on the train? yes
The runaway mine ride? yes
The grave with the beating heart? yes
Does it still have a 1920's section? became Boardwalk

Thanks for the info guys! I'm glad to see most of the things I listed are still there but, I trust you skiingfast, it's probably changed more than I'd like. It was my super favorite park for a long time - probably after my school went on a field trip there and went on a tour that earned me an "official" certificate saying I was now a tourguide. *sigh* those were the days.
At least Disneyland hasn't let me down (not too much anyway)!

Most is much the same. Yes, theres lots of big coasters added. But the old west buildings with shops, food etc. are all just as they were. The crooked house is gone but the mine train ride, log flume ride and many of the original kids rides are still there. So is Knotts Chicken Diner as good as always.

I went to Knotts in 1990 and had the time of my life! Of course I was 17. My oldest son is now 13 and my youngest is 5. We will be in Anaheim next month and I am so excited about taking them to Knotts.

I still love coasters so, I am looking forward to the thrills for myself and my 13 year old. I can't remember what there is for little ones there. Is there stuff that my 5 year old will enjoy?

Yes, there an area called Camp Snoopy. It has several kids rides, bounce house etc. Some of the rides have maximum height restrictions, meaning big kids and adults are not allowed unless with a small child.

Theres also a wild west show, gun fight comedy shows, Snoopy on ice show and other entertainment a 5yr old will enjoy.

While the park has changed I like how they've kept parts of their history as key parts of the park.:thumbsup2
