We are taking a late June vacation this year..June 26-July 2... Is this traditionally a busy time for US/IoA? We are sorry to see that Universal discontinued its compimentary express pass system. Years ago we got stuck in many lines {2+ hours} and absolutely loved the express pass system which was created to make visitors' lives easier at the parks. We refuse to pay for something that Universal graciously offered for years. Hopefully the lines will not be too long.

Same here..............6/22 thru 6/30 will have us enjoying the sunny south :) I am also concerned with the crowds since US eliminated the pass system. I cannot pay $150-200 per day for the new "Pay for express" system that they insist will help with the crowds.

I purchased tixs that get us in for the whole week thru the fanclub site, so I figure we can pop in and out throughtout the week and probably see everything leisurely without having to deal with extensive crowds.

At least that's what I'm hoping for :) :cool1:

Everybody gets out of school mid June. Mid June to August is very busy. And it's very hot. You can go early to help avoid early crowds, eat lunch early around 11, just before the regular lunch crowd. But it will still be very crowded.

We were there the third week of June last year, and sometimes it was very busy, sometimes not. We bought the Express Pass (I think it was about $15 each), and it was very useful (particularly with a DH who hates lines). It's hot then, and it helps to get into the air-conditioned areas so much quicker (keeps you from getting worn out so fast). Sometimes the single rider line was faster, and we used it instead.

We went last June and the lines were VERY long. For some rides we waited an hour and a half or more and we got there when the park opened. Hopefully they won't be as bad for you.

we went to US last june 26th and it wasnt bad at all the longest wait we had was 15 mins for the mummy ride. now when we were walking up IOA was so packed that we were glad that we were not going to that park.

we had a blast at US, we got to see all the shows, and do all the rides. Oh and the sherk ride had a long line also.

we'll be there the end of June too!! I'll see ya there! :thumbsup2

You can get there when the park opens but you DO have to keep moving.. lol..

I've been let into Universal as early as 8:15 on a 9:00am opening time. Waited at the gates.. then they let us inside the park but we had to wait behind this taped line in Production central, until they announced 4, 3, 2, 1.. GO! And we went running. :yay:

Also have been in June a few times. It's not the lines, but the heat that will get you. Around noon, the sun is overhead and heats up the concrete. You'll be dripping with sweat, it's hot.
We're staying at the PBH June 25th-27th with our lab. We'll put her in the kennel each morning, come back at noon, get her out, and back to our room to rest. On our last trip, we hung out in the hotel room each afternoon watching a movie. Parks close at 8-9pm, so it's best to stay away from 12-4pm.
Basically, you want to show up early, hit all the rides, leave around noon, rest, come back at 4pm, and tour as the tired are leaving. The majority of the people do the exact opposite. They show up late at 11am, go on a few rides waiting an hour for each, get tired at 4pm, get hungry, and leave.
