We will be going to orlando for 10 days. At first we were just going to go to univ studios and Busch gardens, and not go to disney at all......now, we have decided to leave a day early....

We will be going during dd's b-day, so she could get in free for that day. Dh and i would have to buy our tickets....Is it worth the xtra $$ to go to disney for a day??

Will we be bored going to 3 parks in 10 days?? we have been to us, ioa, and bg before, it has just been a few years....We have also scheduled to go parasailing, and we will be going to disney quest....

Would you spend the xtra $$ to go to disney for a day??

I wouldn't spend that kind of money for one day at Disney if I already had an upcoming WDW scheduled soon. I would just add another day or two at USF or get one of the Orlando Flex passes that includes USF, Busch Gardens, Sea World and Wet 'n Wild.

We are going to go to Disney for just a day in a few weeks for my DD birthday. We will have to buy tickets for DH, DS and myself. We are going for just a weekend to Orlando. We will do Disney on Saturday and DH and DD are going to Universal's Halloween Horror Night on Sunday. I wouldn't do just one day at Disney if it were going to be crowded, but this is what my daughter wants for her 15th birthday.
It is hard to spend the money for a one day ticket when it is so much cheaper per day when you go for longer.

I guess it depends partly on how old your DD is and how much she loves Disney. I think it would be worth it, esp if you can plan the Disney day on one of the less busy days (ie: not a weekend day), and maybe even let DD pick the Disney park (depending on her age). We were in Tampa the week of my DDs birthday (age 12) so we took a day trip to Hollywood Studios for her birthday- it was well worth it- she was old enough to appriciate and remember it, and she picked the park. Plus they have so much fun being there on their birthday!!

There is plenty to do so I don't think you will be bored in your 10 days in the area. Seems like you already have a few things planned - you can also have some relaxing days by the pool of your hotel, DTD, city walk, etc.

By the looks of your ticker, it seems that you will be going back to WDW soon after. If that is the case, I would just get your DD's gift card for her birthday and use that to buy her things she wants on her Birthday or save it for the next trip (up to you). If your tickers are wrong and you won't be going back soon after - I would consider doing WDW for the day. Are you planning a trip in the future? It would be less expensive per day to get a longer pass and save it for the next trip :)

Sorry, I just noticed my poly ticker is wrong....We are going to spend the last night of our trip at poly...I have never even noticed it...I must have put the wrong date in???

It is just one trip.....

Thanks everyone for your advice....We have been to disney the last 3 years, but we have never gone to orlando w/o going to dis. It seems weird. BUt we are trying to pay off dh's truck early, (we only owe $800 left:goodvibes)
and that xtra dis $$ would help to get it paid.

Okay, totally different response then.

If I had the one night at the Poly tacked on the end of the trip, I would have a difficult time of seeing the castle across the bay and not visit it.

If there is time during the 10 days in Orlando, consider taking a morning to do a timeshare tour in exchange for free WDW passes for yourself and your DH. There are a few low-pressure ones out there but it will mean taking time from your vacation to do it.

Otherwise, I would ask DD to choose between the DQ tickets or the day in the park. It's not an equal exchange (3 adult DQ passes = $131, 2 adult MYW 1-day base passes = $168) but it would soften the blow to your wallet.
