Is it worth it to go to FW for just 2 nights?

We have 2 nights reserved at FW in a cabin at the start of our trip (YC then Poly after this) which will be the end of Nov./first week Dec. I wanted to stay there to try it out as we have never stayed here before. However now I am a little worried that it might be too much to learn to really make the two nights worth it? to golf cart or not is something I cannot seem to figure out either for just two nights? Will I be able to do the 2 nights justice?

Are you going to the parks on those 2 days?

Sure, it would be fun!

I think my first trip to the Fort, many moons ago, was a one night stay in the prior version of the cabins. It was just me an my oldest DD, and we rented a golf cart, and had a great time!

At the end of November/first week of December, there will be lots of Christmas Decorations around the Fort, both official and unofficial. I would suggest that you at least rent a golf cart for one night, and tour the campground.

Thanks for the input...I think we might try to NOT go to the parks on those two days/nights and just hang out at FW as that will be the weekend of Thanksgiving and I've heard the parks will be crowded. Can we keep ourselves busy at FW for those days without going to the parks? My two dds are going to be 5 and 8 at the time. I'm thinking that the new pool here would be a great place to hang out?

You can stay plenty busy:

Get a golf cart, and explore! Make sure to plan on looping around the campground at night to see all of the Christmas decorations!

Visit the playgrounds!

Pony rides!

Don't forget to visit the horse barn and Blacksmith shop!

There are organized activities (crafts, Bingo, etc.) every afternoon at the pool!

Borrow Shuffleboard equipment, basketballs, horse shoes, etc. from the Bike Barn (free!!!)!

Rent a canoe and explore the water ways!

The pool might be finished by then ;), so go down the slide!

Cook out at the cabin one night!

Go to the campfire!

Make a smore!

Stay for the movie!

Drive around on the cart at night and look for deer, armadillo, and more!

Go to the Electric Water Pageant (every night at 9:45) at the beach!

Watch the Magic Kingdom's fireworks!

If the kids get bored, or the weather doesn't cooperate, visit some of the other resorts and check out their Christmas decorations!

If you aren't going into the parks 2 days is good amount of time to enjoy and explore FW. The cart will make it a lot of fun for kids of all ages it gives you the freedom to explore. Tri-circle-D covered the best things to do so have a great time:thumbsup2.

:thumbsup2 The campground is worth it, especially if you are staying there and not going to the parks. DH wants to go and just hang out at FW. I told him that's great, but we live 1200 miles away. And if I'm driving that far, I'm going to see Mickey. :rotfl2:

But we do end up just hanging at the campground for a couple of days, at least. We would never do this at one of the resorts.

Thats why you stay longer. We stay about 2 weeks. If we were closer we would go more but not stay as long.

I've conned the poor man into 2 Disney cruises this year. So next year he can stay as long as he wants. That was the deal. :rotfl2:

Well on that note sounds like you have a pretty good deal going. You win both ways.
