Is it worth it to buy new battery for Samsung tablet?

It's about 5 years old and works great except won't hold a charge for more than 30 minutes or so. I saw online the batteries are like $49, so not sure if it's worth the cost for as old as the tablet is. I only use it for reading, and I can probably buy a new Kindle for $99 so not sure what to do at this point.

Research the battery model number

The more time you spend researching on the internet ... the better the chance all will go well.

Chances are you can find one on ebay for half the $50 price one (same type - but from a discount seller)
