Is it worth purchasing the Dining Plan with the Magic Your Way Package or better to purchase the food seperate? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. :earseek:

We switched from a Dram Maker Silver to MYW Plus package + Dining. It actually saved us about $550 in food money we would have had to spend while there.

Obviously this will be different for everyone, but for us it would work pretty well. We were at WDW for four days earlier this month. When we got home I added up all of our receipts and we would have saved $150 on the dining plan. We ate three character meals and the plan would have saved us a lot on just those three. We didn't have the dining plan this time because it was such short notice to juggle the plans around.

Go to the Disney site and look at the list of restaurants, then go to www.allearsnet.com and look at the menus. You can ballpark what you will spend and then you will know if the Dining Plan is worth it for your family. Also, www.touringplans.com has just added a section on the Dining Plan that can help you decide.

I think if the plan suits your eating style, it's a great deal. When we go, we never have snacks or eat at counter service places; we would be redeeming meal credits for food items we otherwise wouldn't have ordered. Additionally, this means that the entire per day price of $35 would go towards the sit down meal, which we don't always spend on one meal in one sitting (of course, depending on where we are).
