Is it true that you can take your dog to the pool at HRH? I think I read it somewhere but can't find it now.

Thanks!

As far as I know unless the rules have changed pets are not allowed in the pool area.

I thought pets had to stay in the designated petwalk area.

We always take our dog around the pool for walks and I have seen people laying in their lounge chairs with their dogs next to them. I do not think they can go in the pool though - unfortunately - that would be fun. You will find the most of the people that work at the Hard Rock love dogs. :cheer2:

Gee, I sure hope dogs aren't allowed IN the pool. As a mom with 2 kids who are allergic to dogs, that would sure p*ss me off!

Here is what the hotel website says:

Loews Loves Pets; Restrictions apply
Cleaning fee of $25 will be charged per room (once during the stay)
There is not a restriction on size
No more than two pets may occupy any one guestroom
A health certificate for each pet, obtained from a veterinarian within 10 days of the pet’s arrival must be presented upon check-in at the hotel
Guests arriving with pets will be placed in pet friendly rooms
Arrangements must be made with housekeeping for daily room cleaning
Dogs may be walked in designated areas only
If the dog’s behavior results in complaints by other guests, the owner may be asked to board the dog in an outside shelter
Pets are not allowed in the pool/lounge or restaurant areas
Club rooms do not participate in the program

It's the PBH where dogs are allowed on the top deck area. The signs say no dogs allowed, but the staff bends the rules and lets people bring them to the top deck. We never tried it at the HRH or the RPR, I'm not sure if they would allow it.
No, they are not allowed in the pool or on the beach area. Just the top area where you walk in. That means your dog can lay with you on a beach chair.
The staff is very friendly with the dogs and they enjoy petting and even grooming them. One person took let his dog run in the dog walk area, it jumped into the lake nearby, so the staff gave it a bath. In our case, just about every staff member that walked by stopped to pet our dog and talk with us.

Here's my recent web site with pictures.

OK, thanks! I think this is what I read somewhere, someone mentioned the top deck area where their dog could sit with them and hang out.

Never read that the dog could go IN the pool ... sorry if I caused any confusion.

I have seen people laying in their lounge chairs with their dogs next to them.

This is absolutely NOT TRUE. No pets in pool area - designated areas only.

wouldnt be fun. Love to have my golden in pool at home.

Sorry to burst your bubble Bob - but my husband and I and our beautiful american eskimo dog Dante stay at the Portofino and/or Hard Rock at least two to three times a year and we see people on their lounge chairs relaxing by the pool with their dogs laying next to them all of the time so yes, it is true. We do not use the pools at the hotel because we live in Miami Beach so pools are not a big deal for us but yes, it's true - people do take their dogs to "non-designated" areas - GASP! We walk our dog around the pool area every time we are at the Hard Rock. :yay:

We stay at all 3 often and have never seen any dogs poolside. So although it may happen I would consider it the exception and not the rule. I know that the written rule is to not allow pets poolside. Anyone that has concerns once they are there should absolutely take it up with management.

BTW, I am an animal LOVER and would love to have my pets poolside but am also aware of others that have real fears/allergies and less fondness for pets than I do.

My concern with a pet in the pool area would be the pee/poop problems with little wet, bare feet.

There is also food being served in the entire pool area and I would think that pets should be kept out of any area that is serving food.
