Is it true what they say about film and airport xrays ?

I took all of my film out of the canisters and put them in a ziplock. Then I just pulled out the ziplock, and showed it to them, and walked on thru!

I can't find a lead lined bag.I tried walmart,bestbuy,curcuit city,ritz I'm running out of ideas. Has anyone bought a good one online and where? thanks
