Is it true that you can call Madame Leota to the window? Anyone done it?

This might be right next to the "talk" going around that WDW will be doing the NBC overlay this year.

I say give it a try. What is the worst that can happen? You get a couple weird looks from complete strangers, who you will never see again? Let us know how it goes. :thumbsup2

Ok exactly how do think this would work?

  1. Disney has some sort of voice recognition and a mic, that they only turn on during full moons, that triggers an animatronic figure of Madame Leota to come to the window.
  2. Disney has a CM that his or her only job is to sit somewhere and listen for someone doing this and then triggers an animatronic figure of Madame Leota to come to the window.
  3. Disney has a CM dressed as Madame Leota and comes to the window when she hears it.

or the much more likely this is a rif on the Bloody Mary Urban Legend.

My DD and me found two brushes on our Jan 2010 trip
we tried to give one of them to a young couple and they looked at us like we
were crazy and just left it on the ground

My boys and I yelled for George once. We got some strange looks but it was fun. The ride did stop for awhile...could it have been George's fault? :scared1:
I will have to look into this HM rumor on our trip in March. :woohoo:

As long as you are there on a night of a full moon, who knows, it might happen. Sounds a lot like urban legend though. Let us know how it works out.

1) No longer done.
2) But, used to be a VERY popular hunt to get a free "anytime" family FP.
3) I think they stopped it in 2002.

I think they stopped it in 2011, unless the CM gave me incorrect info. We found 2 brushes on our trip during Christmas week, 2011 & scored a FP from the CM, but it was only good for Splash Mt or BTMRR. We were told it was the very last day they were doing that & the paint brushes would no longer be hidden after that day. The CM seemed really bummed about it.

In Disney Paris there is an animatronic lady ghost that opens an upper window of the HM and looks out. She does it every 90 seconds.

I'm betting that is the basis of this story.

In DL the evil queen does the same thing on the Snow White ride...every 90 seconds she'll look out.

hate to be the Debbie Downer here.

Wel I agree the worst that happens is I get strange looks. Better yet I will have my husband do it LOL!!!

T

The ring in the pavement outside the exit of Haunted Mansion . . .. hasn't that vanished? I thought a few years back they had repaved that portion of the walkway and the ring had disappeared from the exit area.

T.

the OLD one was paved over ( ALTHOUGH IF YOU asked , they said it was a metal post sawed off)
they DID put a new ring in the walkway. look around the garbage can in the long way around.. they should point it out to you if you ask.

Like anything good, people ruined it. I saw a woman getting as many as she could. Each of her kids had one and they were looking for more. I don't think he CM's gave out more then one per family but still.....people ruin things.

Uh, it would work by GHOSTS of course! ;)

I've never seen or heard of this one myself though. Probably not a thing.

I agree with this. No way is this true.

Not sure if it still there but there used to be a candle effect. Acandle (light) would appear in random windows of the mansion at night.

My son found a paintbrush in 2011 and he was given the choice of Big Thunder or Splash. We were told they were anytime passes, but later that day we were turned away from Splash. They became trip souvenirs.

I hope this isnt true. We havent seen the original HM since 2012 because Oct is the best time for us to go to DL. This is our first trip to WDW and we were looking forward to the original.
