Yes it is a truly magical place.... We love it too.

It was off the table for the second half of our split stay until our recent trip to the GCV at Disneyland. DH and I were sitting on the deck having our coffee and admiring the view of DCA. We got to talking about DVC and how glad we are we bought in and how great the views can be. He brought up how amazing our view was at AKV. Then the pool. Then I brought up how I want to try Saana. We are borrowed into 2013 but hopefully there will be an add-on next year.

It is official... I have everything purchased, wrapped, and mailed out for Christmas.... Whew. Man does that feel good.....

Brandi is correct - you shouldn't have any problem at all getting AKV at 7 months out. The Values at Jambo and the Standard Views at both Jambo & Kidani are the ones that book up first (people trying to conserve points). You'll be fine!

I thought about that whole conserving points thing but don't want to chance looking at a parking lot or rooftop. We got lucky last time we went with friends and ended up with a killer SV although they booked a Value.

I really just pick up things all year, and that makes it easier... I was writing out my cards in the airport for this past trip, I mailed them mostly from Orlando....

Thanks Laura! I will happily take any help deciding. There will be 6 of us (2 adults, 3 teens (girls), and one tween (male) in a 2 bedroom and I'm willing to cough up the points for a guaranteed savanah view. I'd like to be near a CS but it's not a deal breaker. In order of importance is:

• the view
• the bar or lounge
• the pool
• CS

We won't have a car so I don't care about parking. I'm action oriented but think the 3rd bathroom might be useful. We've stayed at Jambo with dear friends. They reserved a value 2 bedroom but we scored a SV. Not willing to chance it though. We do enjoy time at the resorts and activities offered.

I'll put my vote in for Jambo House. I do NOT like the lobby at Kidani. The pool however, for your group of kids might be a deal breaker. It really was a fun looking area, big slide, cool interactive water area, along with the nice pool. Kidani also has some different animals which were really neat to see. Jambo has has a much bigger gift shop, but you can easily hop on the bus and see it. I personally liked the feel of Jambo much better, but with your group Kidani might be a better fit for this trip. You could also get groceries delivered since there is no CS at Kidani, that would make it even more convenient.

I wish I could help, but it's been WAY too many years since I lived (and played ) there! It was back in the Disco days -- we frequented Mexican restaurants (probably where my love of Margaritas began! ), then head to the Disco!!!

I lived just south of Denver, near I-25. It was an easy (but rather boring) drive south to Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs.

It's been a LONG time since I've been back -- last time I flew to Colorado, the airport was Stapleton!!

I've already begun plans for the big 5-0

As of right now we'll be there Oct 14-24, 2012 in the TVH but I am hoping to change the last 5 of the nights to AKV at the 7 month mark.

Hey you arrive at the tail end of the Jamboini meet, but I'll be there for 7 full days after you arrive!

One week from today, Erin and her DH will be arriving at the Orlando Airport. They'll spent a few days at our new home and then we are off to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We haven't seen Erin since July.

That's great! Have a lot of fun, and so glad you get to see her again!

I have gotten into AKV, several years in a row during F&WF at the 7 month mark, I think you should be good!

Especially if you choose Kidani. The resort is so large, it would rarely be full at 7 months.

Who knows? You could be! My parents are my only family who are willing to eat THAT kind of food. With Fran's illnesses...my 3D friends are becoming farther and fewer between. We're going to the CP with another couple tomorrow, but our 3D friends are dropping off as we aren't able to make parties and events with her illnesses. So far I have one DIS friend and her DH on the list, I think you might know her. But she has longer than you to travel! And who knows what 2015 holds.
