So glad your morning went smoothly, hope the rest of your trip does as well :) you were definitely correct yesterday, I get distracted from working much too easily when there's a new post on here!:rotfl:

I do the same....:surfweb: that is why someone invented the DIS:rotfl:

You are too sweet to make sure he has dinner when you have to be on a plane.

I have trouble even getting out of bed before 10! Look at all you do!

If I don't leave food for him, he just eats what he can find in the pantry... not always a pretty site, so this way it is all ready for him and all he has do it get his lunch together, I portion it out for him...in different containers. Just reheat and go...

I know he is spoiled, but I am too...:rotfl:

Hello everyone -- thanks for all the great info on this thread! I have a club level room booked for next May / June and can't wait. :) Can anyone confirm what days they offer the sunrise safari? Thanks!

Will this be your visit time staying at AKL? The club level was so nice! They have this delicious African Smoothie that I found nowhere else. The Sunrise Safari is so fun. The breakfast spread they have after the safari was so delicious! They have to throw out all the leftovers so I was tacky and slipped a few muffins into my bag for later. Ok, I had a ziplock ready to stow some goodies in... :rolleyes1 Don't know if I'm the only one, but I really hate waste.

:woohoo::yay::woohoo: You need to be dancin'!!! party::dancer:party:

Oh believe me I'm dancing .... :dance3::banana::banana::banana::dance3:

I may have missed it somewhere but what has Tori heard about the CP? My grandson was accepted and checks in on Jan 18th :thumbsup2 and it just so happens I'll be there in the middle of my Jan/Feb trip :rotfl2:

Yes, this will be our first time at AKL -- the theming just looks fantastic! I will definitely try one of the smoothies and I'm sure they'll be a big hit with the kids. :) I was going back and forth on whether we should do the safari or not but the reviews made it sound like a must do. This will be a surprise trip for dd's and I can't wait!

Congrats to your grandson! :thumbsup2 Tori was accepted, but decided (rightly so) that the timing wasn't right. She will probably apply again for Fall 2012, but who knows -- lots can happen between now and then!

We stayed at AKL Villas Jambo house Sep 23-27. We got a surprise upgrade from our savannah view deluxe studio to a one bedroom savannah view villa. Loved it. I doubt that I will have a chance to write a review as I am very busy at work and I am getting ready to go to Hawaii in a few weeks and trying to get those plans finalized.

I do however love to take photos. Here is a link to the over 400 photos I took.

I will close by saying that I loved AKL and we agreed that we will be back there. Enjoy!!

Congrats on the CP acceptance. DD is there right now and she finishes Jan 6th. What is his work assignment category?

Good Evening Everyone! Looks like we will be going to WDW in February!

:woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay::banana::banana::woohoo::woohoo:

Just need to get the dates from our oldest DD & DSIL :rolleyes1 They have a condo planned for a week at a timeshare off property. She can't even tell me the name of the condo yet??? However, DH and I are looking into staying on for a few days at AKL after our week with the "children" LOL

I need dates....I am a planner... and this is starting to drive me crazy. :rotfl:
I want to get to planning. Don't they understand that us Disney fanatics plan our trips 6 months to a year or more in advance. :rolleyes:

Our DD is the kind to throw a bag together at 9 or 10 the night before. Then wonder why she is missing things when she gets there. We took them to Hawaii a few years ago and she forgot her swimsuit and all her shorts. They live in Wisconsin so they were wearing Jeans, sweaters and boots when they flew in (it was March). We all had a good laugh over it....but she did end up not swimming because she didn't want to spend money on a swimsuit when she had one at home. I will give her another week or so before I start bugging her for dates and where we will be staying. :cutie:

DH and I went to see Jersey Boys the other night. WOW it was a really great show. So much talent. We really enjoyed our date night. This Saturday is the big garage sale and Sunday is our wedding anniversary. DH wants to go to a gun show on Sunday. hmmmm yeah......right! :lmao: Somethin tells me he is being cute and has planned something.

Hope everyone has a great Thursday!

His assignment is merchandising which was his first choice. Where is your daughter working? Is she enjoying her time there? My grandson is already talking about extending and he isn't even there yet!

Jambo!

I'm so excited that I can finally join this thread! My parents and I have decided to try out the Animal Kingdom Lodge for half of our April 2012 WDW vacation! :goodvibes

We will be staying at the lodge from April 20th - 25th, in a Standard Club Level room. (The second half, April 25th - 30th, will be at the Beach Club, Club Level as well).

Just a few questions:

1. All the Standard Club Level rooms are located on the 4th floor and are all savanna view, correct? Does anyone know the approximate location of the rooms? Which trail etc. My understanding is Zebra and Kudu trail, in the areas closer to the lobby? That would be the Arusha savanna right?

2. Could anyone point me in the direction of recent AKL Club Level reviews? And some pictures of the room views?

We have visited the lodge on many occasions, mainly to dine at Jiko. But in May 2011 we happened to visit earlier in the day and we were amazed by the pool area! It looks fantastic. We also love the possibility of seeing giraffes, zebras etc from our balcony.

DMom has a VERY sensitive sense of smell. Has anyone ever noticed an odor from the savanna? I have assured her that there won't be any smell, as we have visited Animal Kingdom dozens of times and there is no discernible smell there either.

I can't believe my ADR booking date is just 10 days away! Gotta get planning :thumbsup2
