Well...the next time I sign onto the thread...we'll be in Florida (hopefully!).

Just some final touches on the car packing and then we'll be out the door (about noon) to run some errands. Then we pick the kids up at 1.

See ya all later!

Have a magical vacation! :goodvibes Leave the thunder storms in CT. :thumbsup2

my friends.... I would love to have a little prayer coming my way and to my uncle.

My Uncle died today. This is my mom's brother and he has been sick a good while, he had a foot amputated last week and then passed away yesterday.

Three years ago when David and I where here in WDW my mom died. This is the second family member that has died while we have been here.... Weird, but I try not to let it get to me.

David's uncle passed away in August and it was so hard on us and now mine, just a tragic summer..

Thanks for letting me vent..

I am so sorry for your loss, Brandi:hug:

...well, you can just forget about picking me up on the way - MY BUTT WOULD NEVER FIT IN THAT CAR SEAT!

Thanks :) I am now in total agreement with everyone's wonderful advice. I am surprised at myself for panicking, no need to. I should have been relishing in the moment of getting what I wanted :) now I'll relish! :woohoo:

....do not use this until after Sunday....

Good Afternoon.....need some advice please. We are booked for AKL checking in March 17th....I think we are going to drive down on March 16th and w/ not be in Orlando until around 10pm that night. Could anyoner recommend a hotel near AKL or somewhere close we could check in on March 16th and out on March 17th? Also, I am guessing if we get lucky and the room is ready at AKL before the official check in time they would let us check in? Sorry,we have only been to WDW once and used disney transportation!

I've only ever stayed onsite, but I know there are a lot of inexpensive hotels really close by. I've heard people staying for about $50 a night, but during Spring Break time that might be more. There are also the hotels near Down Town Disney that are reasonable. I'd probably just google cheap hotels near Disney to see what comes up. Others probably know specifics. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

I know that this is a transportation question, but I thought that this group would have the answer to this question:

We have a reservation to do the Wild African Trek at 8 a.m. The park opens at 9 a.m. We have to be in place by 7:45. What is the best way to get from the AKL to the AK. I don't think the buses start running until 8 a.m. Any advise will be appreciated. If we drive over, can we get into the parking lot at that early hour? How about a taxi?:confused3

The Wild Africa Trek is so so fun!!! We did it the first week it started.
I'm not a morning person, so know nothing about early transportation, but I had to chip in and say you're going to have an amazing adventure!

Only if I can get to the park on time....:rotfl2: We have heard great things about it.:thumbsup2

I just did a search for parking lot opening times, and there is actually some info, but it's been hit and miss for some people. Sometimes the parking lot is open, sometimes not. Some seem to think that the buses are the best bet. I'm thinking I've read that buses start running an hour and a half before park opening, which would make sense for those with early ADRs.

I guess the best thing to do is to ask someone at the Lodge. :surfweb:

I would use kayak to search hotels, trip advisor for ratings, and use anything you have available for discounts: AAA, Entertainment card, etc. You can go to the hotel to check in early in the AM, and if the room is ready, you can go in. If not, store your luggage in the car or with the front desk, and they will call to let you know when the room is ready and give you the room number.

OMG!!! How awesome!! Have a fun time for all of us keeping the htread moving!

Love the pic! I second the request to add names!

Can someone who has stayed in Jambo lately confirm for me if the coffee pots are the 4 cup drip style or if they have been updated to the cuisinart pod type machines?

Second Row Ann, Robbie (Donald is #1), Elin (PNO4TE), and the rest I forgot, I am sorry :sad2:

I love the way Robbie's shirt makes it look like Tracy is wearing Mickey Ears! :lmao:
