Please keep your fingers crossed for me tomorrow. After the aborted move to Dubai last year, I have applied for another promotion here in Manchester and it is all happening. I had a written test yesterday, psychometric testing today and I will have two assessments tomorrow: a presentation for which I will only find out the topic tomorrow and then have 45 minutes to prepare and a role play. If I get through both OK, I will have my interview the same day as they know that I am going away on vacation. Everybody else will have their interview while we are on the cruise. If I should be successful, I will get to work with my former mentor again who is also one of my closest friends at work. Another friend has also applied and as there are two positions, I hope that we both get them. This would be a dream come true.

AVATAR coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom

The Disney Parks Blog has just announced that the popular film AVATAR will be coming to life at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Bob Iger and Tom Staggs held a press conference today to discuss Disney Parks' newest venture, which will happen in cooperation with James Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment and Fox Filmed Entertainment.

Lightstorm Entertainment and Walt Disney Imagineers will work together to bring the fantasy world to the parks, as construction on the first AVATAR-themed land will begin by 2013. The project is currently in the design phase. According to the Disney Parks Blog, "Disney's Animal Kingdom is a great fit for this project because it was created to give guests the opportunity to experience the worlds of animals and nature - real and mythical - in new ways. Disney's Animal Kingdom also celebrates adventure, living in harmony with nature and environmental stewardship - themes that are deeply rooted in the story of AVATAR."

There are currently two sequels to the film being planned, so the AVATAR world will only have more opportunities to grow as more characters and stories are developed.

Very busy day today, running all over town with the kids (4 legged), started my workout back up , laundry, doctors appointment and now going to pay bills then fix dinner. Yep .... I'll be there from Oct 19th - Nov 7th .... so we'll have time to meet up.

By the way did you make it to DL for lunch yesterday?

We did! That's one of the things I love about DL. We left the house at 12:40, I called Disney Dining and made a reservation for 2:30 at Cafe Orleans. We had a little time to shop, hit a couple rides before lunch. Then we did more of the same until we left at about 8PM. Fun day!

So all week I have been giving demos of my project to the conference attendees at a booth, but today is the day that I present to the whole conference... I have to stand up and give my presentation...

I know this sounds crazy but me presenting to one person, or 5 persons is easy, for me to present my findings to 100's at one time and field questions gets me all nervous, I turned red and start to sweat... So please wish me luck... 4 PM today I will be on the stage....

Good Morning Jamborinis & Kidanites

Today I pack for a little vacation to So CA - meeting up with family from Chicago and both my adult kids live there. And then ..... on Sunday it's three days in DL!!! What a good little Disney fix prior to my trip to AKV next month!!!
