I am glad things went well for Brandi! :goodvibes

Glad to hear Brandi's surgery went well.

...and now, to celebrate:

...of course, Brandi gets the FIRST ONE.

Although I don't know Brandi, I'm glad her surgery went well too - surgery is always scary.

Hope its not too obnoxious to post a question a second time :goodvibes. I'm hoping to spend a little time at the bar in Jambo house. Anybody have a great cocktail they could recommend?

Good morning, Js & Ks! :sunny:

skater - I will field this one again... are you looking for cocktails that are specific to AKL? As far as I know, they do't have those anymore. Unless someone on here has a "recipe" for one of the drinks from long ago that were AKL-inspired, or unless you get a bartender (and they are WONDERFUL at AKL lounges) who knows some of the old cocktail mixtures, you aren't going to find anything different at AKL than anywhere else on property. If I am wrong one of the other Jamborinis will jump in and tell us both! :goodvibes

...the Natahzu is awesome but you have to specifically ask for it...

Kim, thanks for the domes this morning. No time for breakfast so mine came in handy!! ;)

Thanks! I was hoping there was something unique to AKL. Sorry you had to respond to the same question :upsidedow.

Well, DH & I are officially AKL converts. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED OUR 1st STAY THERE!!

We were there for 5 nights in december, and we have now decided to switch our october trip to december, to AKL .:woohoo:

My only concern is: Should we book savannah view?? Or standard?? My thinking is: If we book savannah, and it's too cold, we would have wasted DVC points....Hmm..what to do, what to do....

I'm sorry, I didn't respond because I might be one of the few in the universe who doesn't care for alcoholic beverages so I had no idea.

Awesome! It is such a wonderful place. I'm getting homesick just thinking about it :cloud9:

I think I'll always book a Savannah View if it's available. Even if it's too cold you can look out the window. It was 70s when we were there last month, mid month, not the freak cold of last week. If you can live without the Savannah View it would definitely save points.

And you have to get a bartender who knows how to make it. :thumbsup2

That's the larger problem.

If you're at Jambo, try Victoria falls, first. Ask if anyone working knows how to make one (they have the stuff, still, in the bar to make it).

THEN try the pool bar.

I've had better luck at VF.

I haven't found anyone, either at the lounge (by Saana) or the pool bar, at Kidani, who knows how to make one.

It IS on the sweet side...but not OVERLY sweet.

I remember I liked the Victoria Falls Mist a little bit better....my wife preferred the Nahtazu.

No problem! I felt dumb asking again :goodvibes. I'm actually not a big drinker, but I want to play at being adult (and do things I might not do with the kids) on this trip without the kids :rotfl:.

Thanks! That looks sufficiently "girly."

Too funny! Please don't feel dumb, sometimes we get to chatting and questions fall through the cracks. :)

Okay..I've looked all over and can't find it. I saw something about a wine and cheese tasting at AKL (Jiko I think) and now can't find anything on it. Can anyone give me any information? 50 days until our trip!!!

Thanks!

Every Wednesday (3-4pm) at Jiko. The cost was $25 plus tax & gratuity - I'm not sure if it's gone up in cost yet. For reservations call: 407-938-7149.

I believe TyRy did this recently. Maybe she will check in and give you her review (and the current cost!) :thumbsup2
