CM in local Disney Store told us that Fantasmic was coming to an end. She said a new show will be in it's place, but that she didn't know what. She implied this will happen at the end of 2008.
Is this true? I couldn't find any threads about this other than they cuts the show to only 1 or 2 nights during the winter.

Have not heard anything to back this up. The number of shows per week was cut back to save costs, but I highly doubt it will go away all together...

This better not be true!!!!!

This is my hands down favorite show in all of WDW... I would be devestated!!!

It's so awesome... I have only met a very few who didn't like it...

LOL the only thing worse than a rumor from a CM is a rumor from a CM who doesn't even work at the resort.

They have fantasmic scheduled into 2009 so I doubt it's leaving anytime soon. In the future, possibly, but I sure hope not. It is also one of my favorite shows. I LOVE illuminations, but fantasmic is great with the characters and the only place on property to see steamboat willie!

lol yeah, they wouldn't get rid of fantasmic now. And those bus driver rumors are pretty funny.

Maybe the CM was hearing about the Wonderful World of Color coming to DCA and presumed Fantasmic! was being replaced. But it is so popular in both CA and WDW that it would be a major faux pas and PR nightmare to eliminate it.

And CA just spent $$$$ on digital projectors which have made it even better..... now if only WDW would do the same.
