Is it too late? :(

We have been planning for quite a while to go to WDW for Christmas this year. We will be staying with my parents at WL (they have a DVC). My mom decided to inform me today that they are going to leave on Dec. 26th to go home (and apparently this has been decided for a while). They were suppossed to stay until the 27 or 28. So now we need a place to stay. We could stay with my sis, but rather stay on site. I checked Disney's website for reservations, but I am not having much luck. I haven't called sis yet to see if she could help. We would love to stay at the GF or the Poly, but can we still get in for the 26th and 27th? I am so mad. If I had known this earlier, I would have booked something before now. I am always the last to know things like this .HELP!! Any suggestions? TIA

I'm so sorry! My mom forgets to tell me things all the time. I know its frustrating, but try not to get angry. I stopped getting angry at my mom (she is 78 now) a while back when we had several health scares in a row. Just try to understand that she isn't perfect.

Now for the problem this has created. Have you tried travelocity.com? They sometimes have rooms (and at pretty good rates) that won't show up on the disney web site. Have you called Disney directly? Sometimes they will get cancelations (I just canceled AKL) or release courtesy holds. You can always call the Swan or Dolphin or try a travel agent.

Don't panic yet. It's late sure, but I bet you will be able to find a room on site if you keep calling. One time I had to call 3 times for the room and resort I wanted. I just waited a day or two and called back until one opened up. (Calling Disney Directly)

I know you feel like your trip is in jeopardy, but it truly isn't. People on these boards have told me to relax and take a deep breath before so I am passing on their wisdom!

You'll be fine. Let us know what you find. It will be interesting to follow your quest

Thanks for your encouragement. I know she didn't intentionally do that. They just have a lot going on and this is NOT their #1 priority. BTW- she is only 55- what am I going to do in the upcoming years J/K. I need to call my sis and see what she can do. I will let you know what happens. Anyone else have other suggestions? TIA!!

Disney site show availablity for the GF with room only for the 26th and 27th. How many people are in your party? It shows about $1200 for garden view for these two nights

i know how upset you must feel, this might help ...

my daughter just did a report on the human brain and did you realize we start losing brain cells starting in our 20's they said by the time we are 50 we have lost so many we are much slower and very forgetful... when we are in our 60's and up we have lost about 10% of our brain cells, and if you drink or do drugs is nearly double that.

I know this sounds silly to say, but I thought it might help you understand why some of our parents forget so much.
