Another website is reporting WWTBAM is closing August 19. I better get there next trip. I have never tried it with the kids. Anyone else hear this? The infamous rumor of Midway Mania maybe getting some merit :cool1: !!!

Say it isn't so. I got to try it for the 1st time in March and was hoping to do it again sometime between 8/25 - 30. It was so much fun. I didn't get into the hot seat but did make it into the top ten.

I certainly hope not! It's one of our favorites in MGM.

Hmmmm ... I seem to recall mentioning this recently and everyone was quick to tell me otherwise. Well, I said I wouldn't do it, but here it is:

I told ya so!!! :teeth:

1) yes.
2) It has outlived it's usefullness.
3) Far too many empty seats during most shows.

I had never seen anything else mentioned, but I'll beleive ya :rotfl2: :rotfl2: !!

I dont really know... but this week they have started using the AOL Instant Messanger results for the show at the studios...

In the past this was only used during the tapings of the shows in New York, but this week I have gotten IMs witht he name stating that it is being used for the attraction in Florida, and with each question it states this:
"MillionaireIM:
Hi! This question is sent from the Millionaire PLAY IT! attraction in Florida. Correctly answering our questions could win you a trip for 4 to Walt Disney World."

To play along, send a message to the screen name MillionaireIM and follow the directions.

So I would not think they would invest in putting this into place if they were just going to close it in a few months.

Once again ... wait and see ... pirate:

I have always found WMTBAM to be full whenever we've been down there, and we've been there during the off seasons. That will stink if it does close. We'll just make it though, thank goodness. My mom is going to be so upset if its true!!

I agree, we were there in Sept. and not that every seat was full, but about 90% were.

I hate to see this go, if it does, we love it.

What is Midway Mania?
Yeah - what is that? I have this awful mental image of carnies heckling the crowd to guess weight or to win horribly-mortal goldfish.

Do tell...

I second this. Have I missed something? I don't think I've ever heard of this before.

It's a rumored new ride to be built both at Disney-MGM and Disney's California Adventure. From what I gather, it'll be like a "next-generation" version of Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. Apparently it'll be in 3D, and be themed to Toy Story or some other Pixar characters (the rumors differ on this.) Sounds like a cross between Buzz Lightyear and the Spiderman ride at Islands of Adventure. All rumors, of course, at this point.

I'll be saddened to se Millionaire go, but if the Imagineers can create a quality, family-friendly new ride, I'll be happy. Disney-MGM is desperately in need of a new ride.... what was the last new one? Rock 'n Roller Coaster?

Oh no! Last time we were there I was #3, and then it was over! So close... and that was with someone's pre-schooler kicking me in the leg the entire time.

We're going the end of August - I was hoping for another chance to try to get in the hot seat. :confused3

Holy ****! A cross btw Spidey and Buzz? Surely you are kidding me! Sounds too good to be true :3dglasses :woohoo:

I heard this exact same thing on two different Podcasts; WDW Today and Inside the Magic. They are rumored to be closing WWTBAM and Sounds Dangerous.

:cheer2:
