Is it tacky to wear too much Disney jewelry?

Ok, so this was my final payment on my ring on Bradford exchange. I wear it non-stop. I have a Swarski Tinkerbell necklace and a all silver (no color) Mickey Mouse watch. My ears are pierced, but I normally just wear hoops. I REALLY think Disney earrings would be over the top.

There is a bracelet on the Bradford exchange that I am in love with. Today was the first time I have ever seen it. I'm thinking of getting it for my birthday, but is that too much Disney? So, ring, watch, necklace. Bracelet??
Also, I'm 38 (yikes) today. Am I too old for something so colorful? Don't hold back, please. I don't want to look stupid, well more so than usual. :goodvibes

Pic of bracelet: Well it won't let me post it, so here is the website.

Tacky, shame on you for even thinking that thought...there is NEVER too much Disney IMHO :rotfl:
When I go to DIsney I always put in my mickey post earring in the one Xtra hole I got as a kid (I guess that worked out :rotfl2:) and I still get to wear my favs beside it!
I wear my DIsney ring (QVC, diamonique with the black and white stones/Mickeys profile) LOVE It!!
I wear the bracelet that is full of charms that I have collected over the years (tho I do not wear it on all days!)
I wear a Disney Toe Ring too
and
SOMEtimes I will wear a simple Disney"esque" necklace
Seriously...I even "wear" a disposable Disney TATOO (ebay) on my back/shoulder area as well......:cloud9:
Its Disney, Its YOUR decision ...Be Happy and thankful that you are able to ENjoy your Life as YOU see fit! :thumbsup2
Have a great time! ;) :dance3:

Too much jewelry is subjective. If it makes you happy, then don't worry about it. I will however warn you if you wear too much you could end up as the laughing stock of other people's vacation photos. While vacationing at the beach a few years ago we took tons of people with funny beach attire. We named this lady "jewelry lady" due to her excessive jewelry on the beach.:rotfl2:

Hey, that someone I KNOW

just kidding :rotfl: But that looks like she wears it all the time, regardless of Disney, good for her, surely makes her happy, but it "weighs" me down, looking at it :rolleyes1

I'm not a fan of too much jewelry (like the picture). There's nothing wrong with having a bunch of pieces and wearing them separately!

I remember reading a fashion magazine once that said the rule about multiple accessories should be: once you're dressed and wearing all your jewelry, stand with your back to the mirror and then turn around. The first piece of jewelry that catches your eye should be removed.

Layering jewelry is in. Check out the YouTube tutorials on it.

In my experience, as long as you are wearing normal clothes(not Disney park attire and Mickey tshirts) no one even notices that you are wearing disney jewelry.

I'm a 39 year old woman. I have a few pieces but only wear the subtle ones when I'm not at WDW. I have a nice, subtle Mickey watch I wear all of the the time. My Mickey earrings and Minnie necklace are packed away for my next WDW trip.

Whenever I see someone with a lot of Disney jewelry, I secretly get excited and want to talk to them about Disney, LOL. I hold back but just a warning since you never know what kind of attention you'll attract, LOL.

Honestly, it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. If you like it, go for it. I can think of waaaaaay worse things to wear (or not wear).

well,I can't respond to the 'too tacky' question:rotfl2: but WHY did I click on your link,OP? I NEED that bracelet!!!!!!! I wear what makes me happy, you should too!

Princess - is that in Ocean City? I ask because I was there mid July and noticed a memorial park bench at 17th Street on the Boardwalk that had an inscription I loved - 'Ocean, Seagulls and Mickey Mouse - two out of three aren't bad'.
The inscription could have been written for me.

The woman also looks vaguely familiar. Maybe typical look for older 50 something beach goers around here. And the load of jewellery looks like a great ad for 'wow I just sold my old gold......'!

That is hilarious! We play a similar game when we go out together. We look for the "Most inappropriately dressed person for the . . . (ballgame, amusement part, etc.)." Usually the winner is a woman with crazy high heel shoes at a place where you have to walk around all day. In fact, we recently added a new award category, "Most inappropriate shoes for the . . ."

Oh my after reading this thread I am getting scared I am obsessive..I have my own Disney jewelry pouch just for my Disney jewelry..I don't wear it all at the same time but I have more than 5 Disney watches, earrings and some necklaces and bracelets... And I don't care what people think..I enjoy them.:lovestruc

In real life (;)) I only wear my ring, and occasionally my watch. The watch is very subtle, like I said, it's silver colored. You would never know from a few feet away that it's an MM watch.

I just fell in love with this bracelet. I had to have it! (I shouldn't be saying that on the budget board). I really have no qualms about wearing all of it to Disney, including Disney shirts. Where else is NO ONE going to make fun or think it's strange? ;)

Thank you all for your input. I think in my normal non Disney life, I will keep it two pieces minimum.

I know, right? It was love at first sight for me!

I could have written your post - although Im 43! I wear a mickey watch, one, maybe two bracelets, and a mickey ring - sometimes a necklace, depending on the outfit. I too only wear hoop earrings - too funny - mickey earrings would be over the top (?)! I love both of those pieces, especially the bracelet - going to show DH now!

Wear what you love - I do!

Tell him all your friends on the Disboards have one and you will feel left out if you don't get one!

I am 41 and work in a Bank as a manager.... Very conservation place... for the most part I look like I am going to a funeral considering all the black and grey I wear.

However, I wear my disney jewelry. I have earrings and necklace. Right now I have mickey nail art on my thumb nail. My staff understands that I love disney and if I could I would be working in WDW rather then the bank. When one of my clients realize that my necklace is really mickey mouse inside that silver heart they always smile. Just because we grew up doesn't mean we have to grow OLD!!!!!!

well, i think that's pretty mean and judgemental. I am assuming that each of those pieces has a special meaning to her. And, frankly, I personally don't care what the fashion police think of the way i dress. I pay for my own clothes...so i get to decide what I wear.

Hey, were you at Scarborough Beach in RI?!:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::yay: Back in the day, and now too, it's known as the "Guido beach". Seriously, looks like they could film Jersey Shore there. I remember when the show came out, people were up in arms over the term "Guido". Here in RI, some people call themselves that, and proudly. So, I was a bit surprised about the controversy. One of the guys, Pauly D, is from Johnston, RI. That's also very Guido-friendly.;).

I have lots of Disney jewelry, but I don't wear it all at once. Mainly because of work, not really supposed to wear heavy jewelry.

Go for it. :thumbsup2 As long as you are happy who cares? I hope you have a magical trip. And the bracelet is nice too.

And what if that "piece" happens to be your wedding ring?? :rolleyes1
