Is it tacky to wear too much Disney jewelry?

Ok, so this was my final payment on my ring on Bradford exchange. I wear it non-stop. I have a Swarski Tinkerbell necklace and a all silver (no color) Mickey Mouse watch. My ears are pierced, but I normally just wear hoops. I REALLY think Disney earrings would be over the top.

There is a bracelet on the Bradford exchange that I am in love with. Today was the first time I have ever seen it. I'm thinking of getting it for my birthday, but is that too much Disney? So, ring, watch, necklace. Bracelet??
Also, I'm 38 (yikes) today. Am I too old for something so colorful? Don't hold back, please. I don't want to look stupid, well more so than usual. :goodvibes

Pic of bracelet: Well it won't let me post it, so here is the website.

I think if it makes you happy, you should get it. :) I don't think it should matter what others think. Plus, I think it's very tasteful.

I think you should wear whatever you want. :thumbsup2

I think if you like the bracelet, get the bracelet. I think if you want Mickey earrings, get Mickey earrings.

I *personally* don't care for too much Disney Jewelry, but I have a few pieces I like, and I have a bunch of Mickey Tattoo's, so I do my own Disney "thing". However, I had been eyeballing this ring. I think it's cute:

Like you said, you're 38! You're old enough to ....wear what you want! :cool2:

Who cares what other people think. If it makes you happy wear it..Too much time is always spent on what others think..
Pixie dust to you..:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

That's the ring I have! I love it, but I will say it's not as sparkly as the picture.
I love that they have payments and you get everything before you start making payments. I really do love that ring. I wear it every single day.

To everyone else, thank you. I just fell in love with it. I just needed some perspective. I'm going to order it right now...it's so pretty!

ETA: DONE! I know that was super quick, but all I had to do was put in my password and they already had my address and credit card on file. They make it too easy to buy these things!!

A girl can never have too much Disney jewelry!!!

I <3 that bracelet!

Funny story, my DH knows me well and was at the Sears counter buying me a Mickey necklace for Valentine's Day  and the guy behind the counter said his daughter would love it. :rotfl:

Thank you for the pixie dust. It's not been the best day. But the retail therapy should help. :thumbsup2

You should have whatever you want! But, if you feel better... you dont have to wear it all at the same time.

What a great story! People just can't fathom adult Disney fans!!!

I rarely go out. The ring is the only jewelry I wear everyday.

BUT, I do have a trip to the world coming up in Dec, and I know I will be very comfortable wearing everything there!

I don't wear Disney jewelry. However, as my Disney trips get closer, I tend to wear different conservative Disney ties. They can make me wear a tie but can't make me really take it serious.

I love the bracelet and I would get it if you like it and would wear it. I have lots of different pieces and I love them all and wear them all of the time, just usually not multiple pieces together. I usually have at least 1 Mickey on somewhere!

I think the fact that you asked at all shows that you're aware that other people form opinions based, in part, on how we dress and accessorize ourselves. So you've already won the battle. Just use your best judgement on when it is and isn't appropriate for you to wear all or none of your jewelry.

I have the cutest little Santa pin that a friend gave me. It's a naked Santa holding his red hat over his private parts. :scared1: I love it and wear it often during the holidays. Would I wear it a job interview? No. :rotfl: Well, maybe if I were applying for one of those Santa's Helper jobs doing the pictures at the mall. :santa:

I could have written your post - although Im 43! I wear a mickey watch, one, maybe two bracelets, and a mickey ring - sometimes a necklace, depending on the outfit. I too only wear hoop earrings - too funny - mickey earrings would be over the top (?)! I love both of those pieces, especially the bracelet - going to show DH now!

Wear what you love - I do!

I think you have to remember that you are asking this question on a message board for Disney fanatics. So there was very little chance that you'd get any negative replies about wearing Disney jewelry.

I'll be honest. If I encountered a mature woman wearing a lot of exclusively Disney jewelry, and it wasn't a Disney themed event or a place with a lot of kids, I would definitely notice that and think, "Well that's odd." I don't think it would keep me from treating you the same way that I treat everyone else, but I'd notice it.

Of course, the wonderful thing about becoming "mature" is that you eventually come to a place where most other people's opinions don't matter quite so much as they did when you were younger, particularly regarding your appearance.

Too much jewelry is subjective. If it makes you happy, then don't worry about it. I will however warn you if you wear too much you could end up as the laughing stock of other people's vacation photos. While vacationing at the beach a few years ago we took tons of people with funny beach attire. We named this lady "jewelry lady" due to her excessive jewelry on the beach.:rotfl2:

I'm 35 & I love wearing Disney jewelry :thumbsup2

I have bracelets, earrings, necklaces & anklets, little stuff, big stuff, inexpensive & from Disney Couture. I buy charms and have a friend make me some pieces too.

If it makes you happy you should wear it, I have seen women in their 70's with Disney jewelry & I never thought it was tacky, I think it's adorable.
