Is it safe to buy tickets on Delta for our May trip?

With all the airlines going to bankruptcy, is it safe to buy tickets on delta for our may honeymoon??? I would hate to buy them and then have to find another carrier if its not safe.

There are airlines that have been operating in bankruptcy for months (United & USAirways), Delta isn't even in bankruptcy so you don't have to worry.

I got great prices on Delta Song for May through Orbitz in December. Check out flysong.com for amenities offered on their flights! Satellite TV/Radio, interactive games, screen on every seat!!!!! Just checked my same flights yesterday and the price has only gone from $166 to $183 since I booked my travel. Orbitz gave me a discounted fare for our carseat child as well. I did not find this was the case with other travel companies though! I am personally not overly concerned about Delta not being available for travel in May...Oh well, just my opinion!

I have no hestitation in buying tickets on Delta. The only airline I actually hestiate on is USAir, but even they look safe into June/July.

Airlines normally keep flying right on through Bankruptcy and the passengers see little to no impact. Just to give you an example, United has been in bankruptcy for months. Continetal went into bankruptcy a few years ago, emerged and flew as normal during the whole process.

There are exceptions to this, but they tend to be with smaller start up airlines that just don't have the access to cash.

Well ... Delta has been a real nightmare for us lately. My husband just got back from a trip and got stranded for 8 hours in Cincinnati because so many Delta flights were cancelled for no reason (weather was fine, no explanation given). He spoke to a pilot who said Delta schedules are totally up in the air right now.

Then, times for his upcoming Delta trip to Charleston has been moved around very significantly. How significant? Try flying the next day!

We are booked to fly Delta for our upcoming Disney trip in March and all of this rescheduling has made me very nervous.
