Is it safe...need lots of opinions

Water weighs 8.35 pounds per gallon. So 30 gallons would be 250.5 lbs. Agree, not much for a 5er.

google each states rest areas and welcome centers also there is a chain of truck stops I believe its called flying J. this way you can plan them out

In all my years of camping I have pulled off the Xway a couple of times. Its very dangerous plus if there is any traffic at all, it is very difficult to get back on without getting run over. I always fill the water tank. In very cold weather I just fill it with hot water and take off. After all, that is one of the nice things on having a RV. I want to use the bathroom any time and I like hot water to shave and wash my hands. Anybody who lugs a pail of water around for flushing when they are in a rig that cost big bucks are just making things hard for themselves. Her fiver probably has heated water tanks.
My advise, fill up the tank, hit all the rest areas, and have a nice trip.

I have been trying to figure out how carrying a jug of water and using it to flush isn't harder than putting some water in the holding tank and clicking on the pump when you want to use the facilities in the camper.

does anyone watch Dr. G? She is a medical examiner in Florida. She had a show on the top 10 things people die from. One of those was stopping on the side of the highway.

Please don't do this. More people are killed because they stopped on the side to check something or a light came on in the car. i don't think it was even based on the fact that some people got out of their vehicle. you can get hit, sideswiped, etc.

she stated right there on the show SHE would NEVER stop on the side, she had her light come on and she drove to the next exit. she felt her life was more important than the car.

I have to agree with her. If anyone knows where the dangers are, it is the last person that will do an exam on you.

changing the subject briefly....Dr. G is fabulous! Watching the top 10 show encouraged me enough to quit smoking. I posted all of her statistics on the fridge about smokers and everytime I wanted to light up I'd head to the list. Between the list, Chantix and encouragement from family I am now smoke-free for 8 months. ....back to the subject...don't stop on the side of the road!

here i thought i was the only one that watched her. she is great. my dh gets mad cause i will watch dr g while we are eating. it takes a lot to gross him out but, those tree trimmers come out to cut the rib cage and he is done.

glad to hear you quit smoking. keep not smoking and DON'T STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD... PLEASE!
