I would honestly wait. When they do fully open their sales department back up even if from home they are almost most likely going to have much better incentives than right now on Riviera or Aulani. Copper Creek might stay the same.If we are wanting to buy into DVC directly from Disney, are their reps working from home or is it totally shutdown for now?
That's the auto reply I received from our agent with a sales inquiry. I'm honestly pretty shocked they remain closed almost a month later. Perhaps all sales agents had to help Member Services with sales calls? Still to shut down the sales department for this long is surprising.Someone has posted that there was a message that sales are on hold right now,
Possibly. I thought some guides already worked from home from time to time. I'd imagine the Member Services call centers aren't much different as the sales centers in the classification of essential and nonessential.I wonder if they are indeed helping out. The other aspect is that the state shut down all non essential business so I’d be more inclined to think that is why and working from home was just not feasible.
Yes - I know that some some DVC guides work from home periodically.Possibly. I thought some guides already worked from home from time to time. I'd imagine the Member Services call centers aren't much different as the sales centers in the classification of essential and nonessential.
Yeah, you'd think Disney would be doing anything it could to bring in money right now. Why shut down DVC sales when that could be one of their only revenue streams?I think the few times I talked to my guide, he was definitely working from home. I'm really surprised that they haven't figured this out yet. My department has gone to working remote, it's a pain but at least we are staying productive.
It could be that they don't want to start contracts or start contracts with people have them lose their job over the last 2 weeks and have to default on their contract but still it is odd to shut down completely.Yeah, you'd think Disney would be doing anything it could to bring in money right now. The Resale websites still are it seems from what I can tell. Can they even file with the county and do closings right now? Timeshare closings for a closed timeshare are the very definition of "not essential" even in a state that considers WWE essential.

The DVC people you see in the resorts and parks are called Advance Sales something. They cannnot do sales. They don't have the training, and licenses, etc. They set appointments, and arrange transportation, and give bare bones info and answer limited questions. The real "guides" are salesmen, and work on commission or some sales based renumeration. I don't know if the Advance Sales people want to become "guides", how hard and/or long it is to become one, or how much turnover and competition there is.Are the guides by phone different from the guides at the resorts/parks? With the resorts and parks closed they may have been just swept up in the wider furlough.
