Is it possible to gift the Disney dining plan?

Is it possible to gift the Disney dining plan? My in-laws are staying on site and I’d love to add the dining plan (and pay for it when it’s added) as a gift. Is there anyway to do that as a surprise?

I think you would have to have their reservation number to do it, but it's worth a call to ask with just their names and dates. Problem is, once you purchase it, it will show up in their MDE, so the surprise will come soon. Also, they will need to make ADRs for TS, if they haven't already made them planning to pay OOP.

They are staying November 23-29th at AoA in a family suite. Historically, has that included free dining?

I'd think it will change their room only to a package - with the sooner cancel w/out a fee date?

Maybe buy them a substantial gift card, for them to buy food while at WDW?

Looks like they'll be checking in one day too early to get free dining, if dates hold historically. The SAT after Thanksgiving was included last year, so if it is offered, they would have to do a one night room only, then the package for the rest of their stay.

You could get them a nice gift card and if they receive the free DP they can use the gift card to purchase appetizers/extra goodies? You could also surprise them with a customized cake or a gift bag in their room.

Not as a surprise, but you can call and add it to their package and pay. You'll need res # or name and addr and ph number.
