I have a friend who is going to WDW tomorrow and I wanted to have a giftcard left for her at check in but they said they could not do it at the resort I would have to go through Disney Florists who wanted $25 just to send it. So I am trying to think of a way to do something for them. Could I call Captain's Grill and pay for their meal there? Anything else I can do?

Usually Disney restaurants don't accept direct calls for payment arrangements. But this may be a different situation; try googling Captain's Grill to see if there is a direct number.

If they're leaving tomorrow, can you see them and give them a gift card today?

I do not know, but (as a business owner) I doubt it. You are so kind for wanting to do soemthing so nice for your friends.

I wish they live in FL. and I am in NJ. I am trying everything I can think of but so far no go. I even thought to paypal her daughter $$ but it takes 3-4 business days for them to get it.

1) You cannot call the eatery and pay for their dinner.
2) Since they leave soon, the best way would be a gift card.
3) Through AMEX or VISA, you can send a gift card to the hotel.
4) If they do overnight, the people could get it quickly.

that is great that you want to do something so nice for them, but if you want to do them one better warn them NOT to eat at Captain's Grille. The food and service are horrible. Tell them to go to Kouzzina or flying fish cafe instead.

I kind of doubt you'll be able to get a gift card to them in time, or pay for their meal. Do they like wine? You might be able to call guest services and arrange for a bottle of wine to be sent to their room.

I called the California Grill in October 2011 and paid for my DS and DBIL's' meal. They asked me for the date and name the ADR was under. Also wanted to know if there was a limit to the amount I wanted to pay. I gave them my credit card number, and that was it. It was a surprise, so when the the time came for the check, the waiter brought a card that said Happy Anniversary.

I recommend you call the restaurant directly. When I initially called WDW DINE, they told me it was not possible to pay for someone's meal. Good luck!

Are they staying on-site? It's not the same things but for friends that were in WDW and staying on-site I had a treat sent from private dining (plate of cookies and snacks with drinks) delivered to their room.

ANd on our wedding trip we had friends have chocolate covered strawberries delivered to our room on property.

YES!!! I know this for a FACT. In March, 2012-DH and I went to CG for his bday dinner. His (jack ***) father called and wanted to pay bill. The waiter notified us when were sitting down and looking at the menu. We were on the DDP, so we did not want to waste his $$. He then went to asking if he could purchase DH bday cake. So yes you can either ruin someone's day or make someones day. My suggestion, call close to their dining time

Good Luck!

Another thought is to have something delivered to their room (you might have to coordinate with the resort). I highly recommend Edible Arrangements, especially if they have kids. It's something most everyone can enjoy!

Although I do like the idea of delivering wine to their room. There are many services that will do it, if the resort can't help you!
