Is It Possible to Add Resale Contract to my existing DVC?

I closed a few weeks ago on a small VGC add on. I called member services today to see if I can add it to my existing DVC log in. I was told no, that I need to create a new log in ID with a different email address. Is this true?

Thanks for any help!

DVC security requires that all contracts have the same names/owners to be listed on a common website site account.

Are both contracts deeded the same?

To add a contract to an existing membership, it must be the same use year as the Master (original) and both contracts must be titled exactly the same. It is also a very good idea to make sure the Closing Company provides your existing membership number to Disney and informs them of your wish to have the new contract added to your existing membership.

Thanks for the replies. I did give the closing company my DVC number but I still got a new member number in the mail. They told me my club ID numbers were different. As far as how they are deeded, this add on my DH put only in my name. The DVC membership I was trying to merge it with is in both our names. Maybe that was the issue?

Having said that, I do have another account deeded only to me. Should I call back and try to have my new resale purchase added to that?

If I am successful in having this new contract added, can I use it with the other points I own at the 7 month window? Or would they still be considered separate entities?

Giving the Closing Company your DVC number would not help you in any way with having all your contracts under one DVC member number.

Does your add-on contract have the same use year as your "master" contact. In other words the first contract you bought - whether direct or by resale - is your "master."

If it does have the same UY then something is not titled the same on your add-on. Maybe a name is misspelled? A middle initial is missing? Maybe an abbreviation is used in place of a full name i.e. Joseph on the master and Joe on the resale? Something is different.

I have over a dozen contracts with DVC. All the same UY and all of them are titled the same and all of them fall under one member number. Some are DVC direct purchases and some are re-sales. So, something is definitely not matching.

Mixed owners can't be on the same membership/web account due to security reasons. There is nothing to keep one person from using the other persons points since both will have access to the contracts.

All points on the same account can be use together for 7 month bookings.

Sorry after re-reading your post, if I understand, I now see that you have one deed with your name and it and the other has both DH and your name on it. I think they can have you able to see both on one account, but you will still have two member numbers since the deeds are different. If you truly want them on one account and both accounts on one member number you need to go through the process of changing the way the deeds are titled. A little money/time to fix, but fixable.

As to your question about the 7 month -- you would have to transfer the points between your two accounts. Because for now, they will be two accounts. Disney allows this and my understanding from others in this situation is that they don't restrict the 1 transfer in/out when it is between contracts on the same members account. Hope that helps.

Good luck!
