Is it okay to put family first? (Response to royal family stuff)

On the trademark issue. I believe William and Kate trademarked their own title and the like. They are encourage to do so by their advisors so someone else cannot come in and trademark and make money off of it. Does not mean they intend to make items with their trademarks on them and sell it. Just a way to help protect and control their image.

Harry watched the press murder his mother, even taking pictures as she died instead of calling help
the royal family has done nothing to protect Meghan from a similar fate, and have even permitted some pretty racist things in her presence with no defense of her.

Good for Harry for standing up for his wife and child since the rest of his family clearly refuses.

I get it that you just don’t like her. But I still don’t get the bitterness people have toward her. Sure it sucks I’m not worth five million and married a guy worth 40 million. But I’m not wasting time getting ticked at MM for it.

Not sure why you think someone has to be jealous of Megan Markle just because they dont like her. I mean by that logic I should hate Kate because she is prettier, richer, more poised and will actually be Queen. But I love Kate! So no, no jealousy here. (I know in your worldview, the only other possible explanation is I'm racist LOL. Sorry, I'm not that either)

Then what is it? Because

Are you sure it’s not jealousy? Hating on someone you don’t know, wishing they fail, justifying that you’re good with the other princess when MM hasn’t done much different than her except have a prior career? What is it? I just don't understand how anyone can be so catty about a woman they haven’t met.

BTW...I haven't looked back to see which are your posts and if you said anything about racism, but your one like comes from someone who really doesn't help dispel there might be some racism.

Not the person you posed the ? To but for me, I just had a gut feeling from the beginning. She just reminds me of someone I knew, not in looks but similar family issues, similar complaints (everyone is so mean to me) isolating the spouse from family. I'm well aware it's Harry's decision but when someone continually puts something into your head, you begin to believe it also, the trademark issue was quite different than will/Kate Harry and Meghan had lawyers/pr people who had their "charities" drawn up where they would be making a lot of money off their titles (why they changed to royal global which now they can't use either)
This is all just my opinion so we shall see the actions just highly resemble someone I knew that married a man and within a year, he was a shell of his former self. All of a sudden, his family was awful, his job not good enough, no longer associated with his friends, all new friends of hers, etc after a few years something happened, they divorced and he said that he didn't like the person he had become, she had continually told him how terrible his family was , he was much better than the job he had, etc. She continually put the "seeds" in his ear. So I may be off the mark, but we shall see.

The press did not murder his mother she got into a car without wearing a seatbelt and with a drunk driver driving at twice the speed limit

They literally took pictures of her as she died instead of calling for help they could’ve saved her life
What happened to Diana was awful.
I have to believe few are truly pro paparazzi. Which makes most of the megxit decisions so puzzling.
They had far better protection from the paparazzi in Great Britain. Why they were so firm in wanting to leave the extra protection provided by privacy laws in GB I have no idea.

As I've said upthread, as long as the Royal family and the good citizens of GB are happy to pay whatever the costs, it's fine by me. But it's probably frustrating to some that the costs are much higher while they are purchasing a great deal less protection overall.

Princess Diana was treated for an hour or more at the scene. The ambulance proceeded very slowly (25 mph) past one hospital before finally arriving at another. She had very serious injuries but would've had a better chance of survival if they hadn't dawdled.

Sad all the way around but poor security, speeding, an impaired driver, possibly a poor medical decision and bad luck killed Princess Diana.

While that happens, I still don’t think that’s the case here. He’s in his mid thirties and has a good grasp of himself and his family. The royal family wasn’t this perfect open minded family to begin with. The family made his mother miserable for years. I don’t think MM told him his family was terrible (or really had to).

But yes, we shall see.

None of which would have happened if the paps respected her privacy once in a while in the first place.

Also, no one forced them to "try to get away". Most reasonable people do not choose to take their lives in their own hands when faced with potential loss of privacy at the level of a fully-dressed photograph. If they had simply stood their ground and told them to take all the photos they wanted, no chase would ever have happened.

Diana also used the paps to her advantage. It worked both ways.

Wow. That’s one of the more insane comments I’ve read. Not sure if you remember the years leading up to her death - but the woman couldn’t walk her kids to school, work out at the gym, or go on vacation without photographers in her face.

There were four people in the car that night.

Three died. None of them were wearing seat belts.

One survived - the only one wearing a seatbelt.

Diana died of a very rare injury, a tear to her pulmonary vein, deep in her chest, which caused a slow bleed. She was awake and talking at the scene, so perhaps people thought she was doing ok after the accident. They may have taken her to a certain hospital for a good reason, I don't know.

But most health authorities agree that had she been wearing her seatbelt, the deep injury inside her lungs likely wouldn't have occurred, and she would've survived the accident with a few bruises and broken bones.

I loved Princess Diana, as I've mentioned here before, and, like millions of others around the world, was pretty devastated the night she died and afterward. But clearly some of her own bad decisions (getting in the car with a drunk driver; not buckling up) played a large part in her death, sadly enough.

ETA: the biggest if only, in Diana's case, was within her own control."

Shepherd says if Diana had worn a seatbelt she may probably would have survived and appeared in public two days later with a black eye, fractured ribs and maybe a broken arm.

I haven't seen any mention here of Harry and Meghan leaving Archie in Canada* again (with a nanny and Jessica Mulroney) when they visit England this month to finish up their royal business.

Yes, it's their business to do as they please (and they seem to be becoming very adept at that! :teeth: ) but a) security costs have become a very sore point (and this doubles them for the period) and b) Archie has hardly gotten to know any of his family besides Meghan's mom. Now, ok, Meghan's family is "toxic" and yada, yada, yada. But is Harry's family toxic too? All of them? Will Archie ever get a chance to know his cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc.? If not, how might he feel someday about that? He's been in Canada since November. He will be a year old in May. Discuss.

* And before anyone brings up coronavirus, this has been planned for weeks.

I agree with you here in that some of these are interesting choices. I would say more, but you know, I am jealous of Meghan..lol!
