My DS10 has asthma and we will be packing his inhaler. Is it okay for it to be in our carry on bag??

DH has no issues flying with his...

Mrs. Spratt

I had mine in my purse when I flew in July. I did make sure it was labeled w/ the pharmacy sticker though.

I had ds's in my purse when we flew. I just made sure I had the box with all of the Rx info on it. They never even mentioned the inhaler going through security.

I never had anyone question any of our inhalers (we travel with several). I did have to turn on my son's nebulizer once, but they didn't give me a problem with the vials of medicine.

I take my kids' prescription meds (including inhalers) with no problem. I do take them in their boxes with the prescription printed on them, place all of the prescription medications in one ziploc bag (had to use a gallon sized bag), and put the bag through the screening process just like it's a bag of liquids.

I put our OTC medicines in the checked luggage, but no way do I trust the airlines with my kids' asthma meds.

I had my inhaler in my pants pocket once and took it out to put through the scanner and the worker told me I didn't have to do that. Now I just throw it in my carry on no one says a word, also I don't have any info (rx) for it with me.

I never had a problem carrying both mine and my DD's.

Thanks! I appreciate your replies...it is now packed away in my carry-on bag. :cool1:

I confirmed with DH - no problems. Ever.

Have a great trip!

I only had trouble once, I was told by TSA at one airport that the inhaler (and the Epipen too) should be in my quart size ziploc bag, that is makes it easier for them to know what it is and keep things moving. I've done that ever since and never had an issue.

yep I carry my epi pen in my carry on. TSA said "Dont let anyone tell you you cant have this. We cant take it away if your Dr says you have to have it"
