We have reserved a room at the Poly and Yacht Club for a week in December. Unexpectedly our oldest son will be with us for the first four nights. Should I let the resorts know there will be three in the room instead of two? Would check in be soon enough to do this? What is your favorite Poly building?
Thanks.

I think it would depend on his age. Don't they charge extra for more than 2 adult guests. I would assume that over 18 would be an adult.

Second - I guess it would depend if you really wanted to pay extra for him in the room if he is an adult.

I would call CRO & ask the question anonymously for the correct answer.

You can either call CRO now (advantage is that your reservation will say 3 so you will not be assigned a king bed) or you can just tell them at check in. Most rooms at the deluxe hotels sleep five and have two queen beds. I'd just tell them at check in.

Do they not only charge extra for adults if it's a package (ie tickets included) or if it was Concierge? Aside from that, I don't see how it would make any difference waiting to tell them until check-in apart from as Carol says about the type of bed assignment.

There is an extra charge for more than 2 adults in the room even if you book room only. The cost varies depending on which resort. I think that for the All Stars, the charge is $15 and maybe $25 for a deluxe. Another problem is that if you don't pay for him, he won't get a resort i.d. This may be a problem for early entry. Although, we have never been asked for resort i.d. for early entry.

If he would need a room key then he would need to be added to the reservation.

I am in the same situation as you are. Except it won't change the "cost." I need to add my mom on to my reservation. I keep forgetting to call, since I also need to modify the dates (taking off at the end).

Yes, you should let them know you will have three adults (assuming he is over 18) in your room for those nights. You could wait until check-in, since those King size beds are few and far between, especially if you haven't requested one. What a treat to have another member of the family joining you!:D
