Just been looking at flight prices for next October.

They seem to have shot up. Also tried a package and these are expensive too, compared to last year. Last year paid 1600 for 2 adults 1 child with 3 weeks car insurance. No X class seats left with virgin, so I can't do miles plus money to get the price down. Is everyone going in October now and that's why its more expensive.

Oh well, will have to wait until 08 to go.

Friend of ours found he had to change his return date because the virgin flights on Sat 27 Oct were all sold out!

It does seem to be the most popular time. Summer is just toooo hot for us and with having kids at school you are limited to when you can go. I think its going to be a no go for us next year which is unheard of for us :guilty:

We are costing up end of November 07 at the moment. First choice premium service flying from gatwick staying at either AKL or CBR 2 adaults and 2 children £3600.00 and £3100 , means taking the kids out of school but it is more affordable

Oh dear, just when we have our hols booked, looks like its going to be busy. We fly back 27th October 2007 and have had it booked since May this year.

October is a popular time to go with the weather generally perfect and crowds very manageable - lets face it the number of threads we have seen on here asking the best time to go, most answers = October.
It is generally much quieter in my experience though than say during the Easter holiday period or July for example and flights are cheaper too.

For eg, Virgin's brochure price varies in October between £549 and £629, but it's £739 at Easter and £769 in July.

Spent nearly the whole of November studying miles plus money flights for next October and there were never any economy fares between 11th Oct and 3rd November - The only way I managed to secure a deal was to pump in Economy on the 10th October and Premium Economy on the 30th - this allowed me to book 2 adults 2 childrens flights for just over £1900 - still high I know but at least you get to fly PE home for the same price as VH are flying Economy both ways.

I eat my words !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just checked and they've now posted economy fares

Sorry - having an absolute nightmare here - managed to type in Orlando - London then London to Orlando - which is probably why it gave the prices in USD!!!!! although they do now have miles plus money from the 10th-31st October showing for Economy - a good excuse I say for staying 3 weeks.

Thanks for this, but I need Manchester. Checked last week and there were no miles + money for October, there were some great bargins for the May school hols, but you get all that rain then. I'll hang on maybe they will release some later on.

Last time we flew out on the 11/10/06 and back on 03/11/06. Fabulous weather. I'd rather not go at all, than go in May/June, and it chuck it down, after being spoilt with October weather. Looks like it's 2006, unless, any miles + money deals come up for October.

Please don't miss a trip to Orlando for the weather in May, we have been twice - once in Mid to end of June, it did rain towards the end of the holiday but certainly did not ruin our enjoyment, this year we went from the17th May to the 2nd of June and to be honest, I can't even remember rain !!!!!!!!!! Conclusion, Junes a little dicey but May should be absolutely fine.
