Is it me or are Resort Rooms better than DVC?

Aren’t Poly rooms identical in size since they’re conversions? How could they possibly be different?
They are not the same - they are larger and have balconies on the second floor- they were all built after the other longhouses and do not share the same dimensions.

DVC rooms are smaller at most resorts that have both. That’s simply a fact.

Another fact is that a huge percentage of the room measurements you find online, even at reputable websites, are wrong, or are based on the smallest or largest rooms. A lot of resorts like (but not limited to) BCV, VGF, CCV, and BLT have some substantial discrepancies in their room sizes within a category. But for 3 of those four resorts, the most common room size is smaller than the standard hotel size room (CCV is the same).
CCV is the same but it is the smallest DVC studio. Riveria / VGF / Poly all have 400 sq feet plus. Most would take a VGF1 studio over a VGF2 resort studio even though the resort studio is 10% larger.

Size is not quality.

The PVB long houses were all there and hotel rooms prior to DVC…They simply converted them to DVC.

I don’t know for sure, but I don’t remember that they changes the actual rooms in dimension, but rather brought down to the studs and then made the new set up.

Regardless, they were not built from scratch.

We stayed at BCV last year and really liked it but got a laugh out of how small the studio balcony was. Never stayed at BC or YC to compare the cash rooms though. We were used to the 1BR at VGF which is huge.

Look up the history of Poly - The three DVC buildings are not original - not built for DVC but they were selected for DVC due to the more modern framework of the three buildings. The balcony did not just grow by magic on the second floor -- the original ones have no balcony on the second floor.

I thought you weee saying they were new for DVC.

you can also got 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom DVC units that are almost like living in your house/apartment. They have a living room, full kitchen, and a master bedroom.
It cannot be overstated how cool it is having the space and amenities in the DVC rooms. It's a game changer for sure.:earsboy:
