Is it harder to apply discounts when they come out to split stays?

Looking at possibly doing a split stay for spring break next year (week after Easter). We want to try Grand Floridian but a whole week at spring break is out of the budget so thinking of doing 4 nights there and 4 nights somewhere else. I know spring discounts won't come out for quite a while but when they do, does having a split stay make it very difficult to apply discount codes?

I don't think that it should be a problem as long as discounts are offered at both resorts. People are adding the discounts on MDE on reservations that are already in the system once discounts are released.

Split stay is an internet term and not an actual booking description. To Disney you have two independent reservations that are treated separately so you will be looking for and applying discounts to two different reservations. It shouldn't be any more difficult, but it will take more time since you'll have to do the reservations one at a time.

One piece of advice regarding your split stay . . .If both of your stays are not deluxe, book the Grand Floridian portion as the second half of your trip. It's easier to go from a value to a deluxe on the same trip than from a deluxe to a value.

As far as doing the discounts, in the past I have been able to change reservations online that were initially made online, but reservations I made over the phone had to be changed over the phone. You might want to book one or both online, so you can change them without waiting on hold on the phone for a long time. You do have the option of calling in to change reservations made online - it just doesn't work the other way around.
