Is it going to be tough to get a room in BLT if it's not your home resort?

Hey. We're going down in January so our 7 month mark is coming up to be able to book a resort that is not our home resort. Is there any chance of being able to get into BLT...were going the 4-11th. I know it's probably a very slim chance lol.

I have already read about people getting BLT at the 7 month window and Jan. is not a peak time of year so I think you may have a great shot at getting a room there.

Lynn5700- I booked 2 separate studio rooms at BLT during the 7 month window for my September 29-October 4 vacation. Since I was able to get these rooms during the Food and Wine Festival, I would say you have a great chance for BLT availability in January. It seems the Magic Kingdom view rooms are going first but there are always plenty of Bay Lake view rooms and a few standard view rooms available at the 7 month window. When I made my reservation, I was able to get one standard view Studio but the other one was Bay Lake view. The Member Services representative told me I got the last standard view studio but there were several Bay Lake view rooms available. There were also several two bedroom units available in both standard and Bay Lake view. I'm not sure what type of room you're needing but you should be able to reserve about anything as long as it's not a Magic Kingdom view room. Who wants to burn that many points anyway?

Oh that is good to know! We just need a studio, not looking for MK view. I will just take a standard.

I can't wait to book in June!!

This year is pretty good for getting into BLT. Current owners have been booking using the expiring incentives which has opened up availability. However, MK view and Standard view are still hard to get. I'd be crossing my fingers for Lake view. Good Luck.

We made reservations as soon as we were able to and booked a lake-view studio for two nights at the end of August. We are excited to stay here because of its location and we are contemplating purchasing some points here as well.

I CALLED AT MY 7 MONTH DAY AND WAS ABLE TO GET A STUDIO FOR 11/1- 11/6 LAKEVIEW ! :cool1: I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT SO YOU NEVER KNOW ! LOTS OF LUCK.

Yay Lynn you must stay there because that is where we will be too! :cool1:

I just got a Bay View room there for Oct 1-4. I called in at the end of April, so we were at the 5 month mark.

You might have trouble during Christmas week or other busy times and you might not get an MK view, but I don't think it will be that hard.

We called at the 7 month mark for 11/29-12/6 and BLT was the only resort we were able to switch into from SSR for a 1 bedroom. It was the only 1 bedroom they had but we got it and are very happy. I was so surprised I never thought it would be available and asked about the other DVC resorts first so you just never know! Good luck!

I think in the short term it will not be difficult depending on what you want and the time frame. I am going to guess long term it will be like BCV since it really is not a large resort.

If you want a MK studio on Christmas you will probably not be too happy LOL but at 7 months as it is with all of the resorts with flexibility you can probably get something.

We reserved MK 1 BR the first day and had to waitlist a few days 10/26-11/1. They came in within a month or so. I believe that BLT will always be popular but especially around Food and Wine and other special events it will be very difficult as it has easy access to MK and Epcot as well as the other monorail resorts.

We were waitlisted at BLT for a 1 bedroom when we called at 5.5 months out. We got our waitlist in less than 10 days(just about a week ago actually). We will be there Oct. 4 thru 7th...smjj

My family bought at BLT and we were seriously looking forward to our first stay there this Nov/Dec, several extra people from our family wanted to go and we ended up changing our reservation to stay at OKW (less points, bigger rooms) and with extra research I am so looking forward to staying at OKW. Now our feelings have changed, we will probably splurge one year and stay at BLT but will probably not stay there too often, the points are just outrageous. We are saving close to 100 points for the trip this year by moving resorts. I will be curious if many other BLT owners will feel the same way after staying there once or twice. Time will tell... Good luck to you with making your reservation!!

Yesterday for 6 day stay from December 14 to December 20!! I am sooo excited!!:yay:

I just added 1 night at BLt for 11/6 this week. Studio SV - that's all that was left - which was what I wanted.

We also bought into BLT and the point charts are quite comparable if you book a standard view. If we ever do any spluring for a stay, it will be for a lake view, but I would never use the additional points for a MK view.

To the OP, I think that, given that BLT isn't sold out, we really can't gauge how popular it's going to be at 7 months. Still, my guess is that there will be availability at BLT for non- peak holiday stays, but that likely no MK view or standard views will be available to those booking at 7 months.

I tried to book at exactly the 7-month window for 12/6-11 but I'm waitlisted. No idea how long the list is, but that's the case, at least for standard view that week.

We had good luck with reserving for October for a one bedroom MK view and we did this at the end of March or very early April. No problems getting our whole trip covered.

I called at the 7 month window for a 1BR and got it. We are going 11/28 to 12/3. It is a Bay Lake view.:thumbsup2
