Is it free to park at Downtown Disney if you're staying off site?

Parking for DTD has always been free. It's not like parking at the 4 parks with a charge to park. There is Valet parking available, the charge depends on the length of stay. Anyone can park in DTD but be aware that the West end parking lots a closed due to construction of a new multi-tiered parking garage being erected.

Buses don't go from DTD to the parks for that very reason. Parking at DTD is for people who are at DTD.

Some people do this but it takes a lot of time. You would have to take a bus from DTD to a resort, wait for the bus to the park you want then hop on that bus. I'd plan an hour at least of travel time if you go this route.

Someone mentioned on a thread that Disney is going to start charging to park at Downtown Disney. Does anyone know anything about this? Maybe just a rumor?

Parking is free for now. I wouldn't be surprised if that changes in oh say I don't know mabey 2016

I believe that post related to valet parking at DTD. I could be wrong though.
