Is it easy finding your way around and to and from the airport?

We are planning our second trip to WDW and I am for the first time considering renting a car.
However I dont want to have to worry about maps, or getting lost and all that.

I'm just curious as to how difficult it is to navigate to the parks and hotels and back and forth.

Is there a map of the place in case we need one? If so, who do we go through to get one?

We have only been to Disney once in 1998 so its like everything is new.

Thanks for the input.:earsgirl:

If I can find my way around, anyone can. LOL!

The rental car companies at the airport have great little direction cards and maps they will give you. Just ask.

Also, at any Disney resort or bus information station outside all the parks, they have Disney Transportation Guides that have a map of the overall Disney property.

Once you hit Disney property, the road signs that are normally green on regular highways turn a terrific shade of PURPLE . As long as you see those purple signs , you know you're still on property.

To make it easier on yourself, it is good to learn what "theme park area" your destination is located. For example, the Port Orleans resort is a Downtown Disney resort, so to get to it, look for signs to Downtown Disney and from there, look for the Port Orleans signs. Or, the All Stars are located in the Animal Kingdom area, so follow signs towards the Animal Kingdom and then start looking for the All Star signs.

FYI, if you drive to the Magic Kingdom, instead of taking a Disney bus, you will have to park at the Transportation and Ticket Center, then get on either the monorail or the ferry boat to get to the park. Disney busses take you to the actual park entrance.

Have a great trip!

its really easy. wehn you leave the airport car rental lot just follow the signs for south exit and it will take you right onto the 417 toll road which is the best way to get to disney. and the exit is clearly marked and then from there the disney signs are pretty good too.
