DD2 has been to WDW twice, and has dressed up for many character meals in costume. She loves all things Disney, and has now taken an interest in dolls. I bought her a Disney World doll off ebay (used, but she won't know/won't care) and a bunch of princess outfits (for the doll :earseek: ). I was thinking of giving her the doll and the outfits for her third birthday on 9/30, to bring with us for our trip on 10/7. That way, both she and her doll will be dressed as princesses and Minnie for our character meals. I hope this won't be too dorky, and too cumbersome carrying the doll around the parks. I was just hoping to find some toys or something to keep DD occupied on the plane and on the ride lines, and I'm thinking the doll may help. Also, it'll make for great pictures. I have read here how so many little girls love the WDW Tea Party and carry the doll they get there throughout the entire trip, so I'm skipping the party and going straight for the doll. Is this a bad idea???

I don`t think it`s a bad idea at all. I`m sure you`ll get plenty of comments on how cute the idea is while your there!

I think it's a really cute idea, and if you have a stroller, carrying the doll around shouldn't be any problem.

Absolutely NOT dumb - it will keep her entertained and make her feel more important. I love the idea.

I loved seeing all the little girls dressed up in the parks!!! I thought it was just adorable! princess:

It will get your kid more attention from characters. The "irregular" ones will be particularly honored.

Our DD dressed up as Alice several years ago, at a time she was really bashfull with characters (bad Minnie experience at 14 months). Alice was walking to one of here side shows and noticed her and made several attempts to get a picture and involve her in the show...unfortunately it didn't work out.

I LOVE the idea. DH and I were just at WDW for our honeymoon :love2: and saw so many little girls dressed up and even saw a couple of little boys dressed up as Prince Charming. You could tell they were having a blast.

It really is very darling and cute to see them all dressed up. I hope we have a little girl so I can dress her up on our WDW trips.

Let her and her little dolly dress up all they want! Soon they will feel too old to do this. Like my 11 yr old and on the verge of too old my 7 yr old. They have dressed up for tea at the GF and we have great pics and precious memories for Mumsy (that's what my daughter calls me). :love2: princess: princess:

Have a wonderful trip and hope you make lots of your own special memories!!

Very cute.

But PLEASE put her in practical shoes at the parks! I noticed one little girl in her princess dress...in the rain...in these little plastic princess high heels. I bet she was crying after 30 minutes in those shoes!

Oh, by all means, dress both of them up!! We've seen so many princesses (and their dolly friends, too) in the parks! I love saying "Hello princess!" to them. They get the biggest kick out of it!!! Have a blast and know your DD will love being a princess in her outfit!

Warmly,
Daxx's Wife

Great idea! My 2.5 yo dd loved dressing for meals. I never thought about dressing one of her dolls. I have though about getting her the princess doll and some outfits for Xmas.

Well, if it's dumb, I'm going to be dumb in December! Bitty Baby is coming with us and she has Snow White, Cinderella, and Belle costumes. I can't wait to get a picture of DD, her dolly and her new baby sister all dressed up like Snow White!! :cheer2:

I think it's a great idea!! Very cute!

I would do the same but my daughter is only 14 months and so far she just flings the doll I bought her across the room - she seems to get a great kick out of that! :teeth:

She likes Pooh Bear though - do you think Pooh would look stupid in a princess dress? :rotfl2: Nah, maybe next time, when she develops a love for dolls!

Have fun! :)
