Is it crazy to go the week between Christmas and New Year's?

We live in San Diego, so I would take the train up for a day, sometime between 12/26 - 12/29. I've been to DL in the middle of the week and it's great... but not in the middle of THAT week.

How are the crowds during the weekdays between Christmas and New Year's? Should I skip it and just wait a couple weeks (and miss the Christmas decorations)?

Is next week (12/18 - 12/22) any better?

We go for the few days around New Years and it's great. NYE is stupid full in DL but almost empty over in DCA. For the days leading up we find there are moderate crowds but generally one park or the other is light.

considered that CM passes are blocked out, only 2 aps arnt blackout... its gonna be BUSY!!!

I would have to buy the blockout ticket for the day I went, so that's why I was wondering if it would even be worth it!

The alternative is going on a Sunday or Saturday in January, and I'm not sure how a weekday like 12/27 compares to a normal weekend (since weekends are so crowded at DL)?

Is there a website that has crowd level ratings like the UG does for WDW?
