Is it busy in May???

WE are thinking about going down the first or second week of May. Does anyone know what the crowds are like and what the weather is like. We have been there almost every month but May. We heard it was really nice at that time of the year. Any thoughts???

We went during the second week of May last year. It was busy but manageable. (It was our first and only trip so I have nothing to compare it to.) If you go early (which we did not because my boys like to sleep in) it would probably be best. Just be sure to use your fast passes wisely. We used the evening hours and it worked out well for us. The weather is amazing. Have a great time. I wish I was going again in May.

I'm going the first half of May - and it is supposed to be one of the quietest times.

I haven't been there in YEARS, but when I was, we always went the end of April or first of May and it was definately better than expected!!

We've headed down in May each year since 2003 and can say that it is a great time to go (been in early May and mid-late May). Saying that, we have, however, noticed an increase in crowd levels over the past few years, to the point where to us, the crowd level is very similar to when we head down in October. Weather wise it's great though - very little rain and very warm temps - and the Flower and Garden Festival is a must see!

We've also found that January was quieter than either May or October.

I agree with everyone. May is warm, little rain and the crowds aren't too bad. We were there in 2007 and had some very hot days with humidity but overall it was nice. The crowds were certainly there but nothing like I'm reading on the Theme park board of what is going on this week.

When we went last year, April 27-May 4, and we were told by a CM at AKL that we picked a good time of year to visit WDW
because the crowds are not too busy. The weather was GREAT!! (only had shower one evening) We liked this time of year so much that we are going back next year around the same time.

I have heard that WDW can get busy again around the Memorial Holiday in May.

We went the third week of may in 06' and it was 97degrees every day and humid. It was also a long weekend in the U.S so it was busy and it was the first weekend of star wars weekends.
Avoid the long weekend and you'll be good. I say going early in may would be good so it's not too hot also.!

We are heading down this year may 6-13...........touring plans.com has the crowd levels to be 8/10 each day, so it may be busier that we expected........however, I'm hearing that since it's after the spring break and easter, the crowds should be much lighter than they are experiencing right now. We're leaving before memorial day - so I think we'll be alright.

Weather shoud be great........high's of 30C and low of 20C - from what I have been researching anyways

According to the Unofficial Guide's (DING- for you WDW Today listeners) Crowd calendar, you should go no later than May 21 due to Star Wars weekends and Memorial Day. Other than that avoiding the weekends should give you 4s or 5s which are very manageable crowd levels. Compare that to all 9s and 10s for Christmas for example. Have fun!

Our first trip to WDW was last year..we went in May..1st part of May..it was busy but very managable..we are going again in May this year..hopefully it will be the same.

we go every year at the begining of May and find it to be not bad with crowds, some rides yes have a longer wait... but have never been disapointed with this time of the year ... Weather has always been hot with humidity the odd rain shower some years it has been REALLY hot some of the days, in that case do a pool day or a water park day!!! For me the hotter the better!!!!Have a great time!

We went May '06 and May '07. The weather was PHENOMENAL!!!!! Couldn't have asked for any better rained once on the first trip for, oh I dunno, 15 minutes! It cleared the park and made touring a breeze. Rained twice the second trip for, oh about the same...couldn't beat it! We did notice a fairly substantial increase in the crowd level between the two trips. Personally, I'd go in May again but am a little concerned with the Unofficial Guide's (DING) 8/10 crowd level. Maybe they're thinking the 4/3 deal is going to impact everything. I haven't listened to the listener question shows for a LONG time but this may be something to ask if not already asked.

This has been our experience as well! We go every year from mid May to May 22nd or so and it is not too crowded at all, there is a little bit of rain every day and I love the warmth.

This year our trip goes May 13th to May 24th so it is definitely going to be busier when we are there.

We've been in May several times and are going again in 4 weeks. The crowds have always been very manageable but I am a little concerned this year after the record crowds in April. We're hoping for the best.

Ya I am alittle scared about the crowds for this year seeing what they have been like this month!!! Lets hope it calms down now that easter and spring break is ending! I am happy tho either way that I am going to be in Disney rather then at home!!
