Is it appropriate to take "guests" on a MAW trip?

My sister and her two children are going to be staying at GKTW in Sept. because my nephew qualfies for Make a wish. But because my youngest nephew is only a few months old, and my sister is a single mother, she is allowed to take another family member along to make sure someone is available to ride the attractions with my diabled nephew (age 8).

She asked me and my two kids to go along, so my nephew has "playmates" who will make his trip much more fun. From what I understand, I will be covered under the MAW, and my two kids would need to be paid for by us completely (which is totally fine and understandable).

My dilemma is that I feel very guilty about my kids being in a place where so many kids are disabled and I will feel like people are watching them and wondering how or why they're there and thinking we don't belong or something like that. Is this a legitimate concern or am I being silly about it. I just don't want to have that feeling like we're taking something from another family by being there.

Hopefully I haven't worded this wrong and sound offensive...in re-reading this, I get the feeling that I am not getting my point across... but posting anyway!

Families take siblings along, so I don't think there's any problem.

I guess I would say that you and your family are part of his wish, the same way that some MAW kids have brothers and sisters along. An 8 yr old being able to go with his cousins is going to be having some very special family time with them.
I think you should keep in mind that you are also providing some needed help to his mom. Without you there to help with the baby, she and the older child would not be able to do as much.

We are going on my daughters Make a Wish trip in October, her two older siblings are going as well as me and my husband. I definitely think your cousin is going to need help with a infant and a disabled child and I am so glad to hear that Make a wish is allowing her to bring you. I have a disabled child and I couldnt imagine doing the parks without having my husband's help.
I hope you all have a GREAT time!! You should not feel guilty about anything, you are a going to be a big help.

Don't feel guilty. That is awesome MAW will be allowing you and your kids to stay at GKTW! Your dsis is a single mom, so I'm sure the staff at GKTW will defintely understand! The GKTW villas are big! Have a great time!

No one will know that your two children aren't part of your sister's family to start with. I have heard of other people who brought along grandparents and also the grandparents paid their own way (same as you are paying for your two children).. but were at least allowed to share the wish with their terminally ill grandson. I'm glad you're going along to help and also to share their memories.---Kathy

My son is getting his wish granted at Disney in October. Part of his wish was to have grandma come along. MAW is paying for me, dh and our 3 kids. Grandma is allowed to go and stay at GKTW for free but she has to pay $1 a meal and for her own air and park tickets. We just got an au pair and she is allowed to go too, with the same rules as grandma.

Will you be able to help your sister and nephew and also manage your own kids? (Did you say that one of yours was 3?)

If your own kids are well versed at doing a little helping out themselves, then other families at the Give Kids the World facility will think your kids fit in better.
