Is it always best to take the bus directly from SSR to the parks?

Is the bus directly to and from the parks always the best way to go or are other forms of Disney transportation sometimes better?

From SSR and OKW, unless you drive your own car, there is no alternative to the resort busses. And even if you DO drive, the busses are usually the best way to get to the parks, unless you are traveling with a wheelchair or other medical device AND have a specially equipped car. Even so, it is always easier to take a bus to MK rather than drive.

You can walk/wheel to Downtown Disney, but you can't get a bus from there to any of the theme parks.

As someone who has a powerwheelchair and a specially equipped car, I'd back that up with real life experience. MK is a haul. You can only park at the TTC and then it's another 15-20 min before you can get in the park. The busses stop right by the gates.

I was shocked by the long route when I first came back. In '98 I stayed onsite at All Stars and used the bus exclusively. But in '02 I stayed offsite and drove to the TTC. Took me a while to figure out what was different about the journeys.

One caveat here though, sometimes loading and unloading that van can be a hassle. Always takes us a few more minutes trying to squeeze a powerchair and scooter in our van for my dad and I. I kinda hate the scooters now. They're so darn BIG!
