Is Hoop de Doo worth it?

I have ADRs for HDDR next weekend, and I am wondering whether or not people think it is worth it? I have a pretty good sense of humour, so I am sure I would like the acting part, but I do not eat ribs or beans and I don't really like fried chicken. I do love wine and beer, but I have read they tend not to refill drinks, so I am not sure if I can get my $$ worth that way either!

Any opinions would be appreciated

For my family, this is the best dinner show at WDW ! The food is great and the show is FUN! The ribs and chicken are great, but if you want you could get pasta w/sauce and grilled veggies...this is what my veg daughter had..she still raves about the grilled veggies! The cornbread was awesome, so was the salad and the strawberry shortcake!

P.S. for us the refills were more than adequate...I was drinking beer..our server brought me a pitcher and asked several times if i needed it refilled! Great Time!!

So to answer your question...Yes it's worth it, no doubt..for us anyhow. everyone has there own tastes.

We are from the South and this type of show and especially food is so common that it was nothing exciting for us. Appears you are from Canada so you will probably enjoy it. My family will not do this again

My wife and I went to HDDR for the 1st time on our disneymoon and had alot of fun. HDDR is a very fun show - we don't do it on each trip, but when we do go, we have a great time and feel that it is worth it.

We did the Hoop-Dee-Do for the first time last June and we absolutely loved it!! It was so much fun that we are booked again for our upcoming trip. My two teenage boys and my picky husband all loved the food.
We'll be there Sun. May 30th and I can't wait!!!

take a look on Youtube for videos and see if it is for you. I took a look and decided it wasnt for us. I have seen shows like that when i was a little kid so i have been there done that and would rather use that other table service credit for an extra meal instead.

i thought the family would be rolling their eyes, not big on C&W or dinner shows...they luved it

ABSOLUTELY! it is a blast, my two kids request going here every year, so now it is our finale for our 2 weeks vacation. The food is not to die for but it is good. Strawberry Shortcake is my fav. I have seen plenty of alocohol going by in pitchers so I believe you could get moneys worth. Try it, it is a good nite.

*Most Definitely* !!!

We've been about a half dozen times in the past 15 years or so and have loved each and every time. I'm not usually one for that "Hee Haw" kind of humor, but the show is so infectious and silly (in a good way) that it's easy to drop your defenses and just have a great time.

The alcohol doesn't hurt matters, of course. And to that end, we've *never* had a problem with refills of any sort. (Just a warning: I'm amazed that sangria doesn't melt the plastic ware it comes in... )

The food may be a problem for you. I suppose you could make a meal out of the salad and the sides and the strawberry shortcake. But if you go, at least *try* the chicken.

Yes Yes Yes....although you may already know this...I love HDDR so much I'm doing my wedding reception there! 25 of us in front row tables It's fun, foolish, and the food is great....even if you just eat the cornbread, ribs, beans, salad, and dessert it's still worth it....

I'm not a drinker but many of the folks I travel with are, and they have gotten pitchers in the past with no issues Being Canadian I would just go that route

We all really enjoyed HDDR. My husband loved the unlimited beer - and they had no problem refilling his mug.

I highly recommend the show.

Oh yes!! I thought this was going to be a huge bust for our family but my kids are begging to go back. Food was really good. I am not a big rib eater but they were really good. Chicken was yummy as well. What made it totally stand out for us though was the staff. We were a party of 10 and had 2 people waiting on us, I believe one was in training. They literally went above and beyond what they needed to. Brought out clean plates when my DS had sauce on his and was complaining his food would touch it. Brought friend a pitcher of beer and would actually refill his cup when it got to about half empty. As soon as he saw I was low on sangria I would have another sitting there before one was empty.

We all had a blast and will be returning!!

This is a must "Doo" for me and my family and now my girlfriend every time we are in the area. We were at a convention a few months ago over at the Gaylord Palms and we took a few clients over to see HDDR. Everyone had a great time, even those who laughed at us when we invited them. We didn't have a problem getting our wine and beer refilled at all, and we had lots of refills If you explain that the food is not to your taste they will accomodate you and get you something else.

Is the food good? - Yes

Is the show good - Yes

Do they refill your drinks - Yes (But believe it or not, they do have other guest to wait on as well)

Cost worth it? - It depends on what is of value, for you and your family.

Will you enjoy it? Only you have an answer to that.

FWIW, my daughter and I, we like it for all the above reasons. We have seen the HDDR seven or eight times and enjoyed it each time. This year we introduce another person to the show. Not bad, coming from a 19 year old.

There is one caveat, just like the song from "It's a Small World", the song from HDDR will stay with you for the rest of the evening.
