Is Hard Rock Hotel exspensive....?

Depends on what you call expensive ... I have to say at first I was shocked at the price a little but $200 or more a night is well worth it at the HRH . We are going in April/May and got a club room as part of a package and it was about 500 per person that is for 4 people, with tickets to the parks and all the extras. :goodvibes . We love it there and the park is so close no more then a 5 min walk to Universal and about 10 to Islands of Adventure if that . This is our main reason we love the HRH to me it is the closest to the parks .

Our last visit was in 2006 and we also stayed at the HRH but not on club level . We love the FOTL deal and the closeness of the parks it is all well worth it.:thumbsup2

It is a five minute walk from HRH to USF.

It can be under $200 depending on your discount and when you go. We stayed for $149/night last April.

We were just there about 2 weeks ago and got APH rate of $144/174. It's so close even my 7 y.o. didn't gripe about the walk. We love it and the FOTL is the greatest perk ever.:cloud9:

While I'm sure its possible to get a really good deal on the price, when we priced it out for our upcoming trip in June/July, the best I could get was about $300/night. RPR was $220. While I would rather stay at HRH, I just couldn't justify the big price difference.

The Hard Rock can be expensive. But to our family it is well worth the price. When you go in peak season, you will pay more. You have to look for the discounts (AAA, APH, Supersaver) for the time you are going. Keep checking back as prices can come down.

The FOTL unlimited express is what keeps us going-well worth it......DH is hooked :thumbsup2

It's a shame I can't get a discount. We're paying $420 per night for March 14th and 15th. If we could save a few bucks, we would easily stay for 3 nights. There is just nothing available discount wise.

The HRH has(had?!) super saver rates for 4 nights stay - i think it was $319 if I remember correctly

The Loewe's card is free to sign up for

Make it a point to do a quick check everyday.

I booked our reservations last year and have been checking and checking.

AAA has consistently been a couple of dollars over the supersaver rate with no fluctuations and AP rates have been listed as unavailable.

Last week, only 3 weeks out from our trip, AAA rates significantly lower than Supersaver and really good APH rates showed up for 1 day. I quickly changed to AAA from Supersaver.

The next day, the rates were gone again.

So, lesson learned - check every morning and grab it quickly if they show up.

Where do you check?

Thank you so, so much! :)
Cause I believe me and my family are going again to Universal in March, since we do something every month..I wanna stay at the Hard Rock! lol

And how close is it to Universal?
Is it close enough to walk?

As everybody mentioned, all the hotels are close enough to walk with the Hard Rock being the closest of them all.

The only other thing I wanted to add is that unlike offsite that hotels that are also within walking distance, the Universal hotels are on property. Thus, there are absolutely no roads to have to cross. The paths are all beautifully landscaped (with botanical signs if you want to make it a nature walk) and fairly well lit. The only traffic you have to maneuver are the pedi-cabs that tend to zip around.

HRH is our choice and being able to walk makes it better. We have one night booked for April 27th and we got a great rate of $159 a night with the annual pass discount. A good deal!
