My motha actually said, Wow!
She actually loved Spectro.
And my motha is never impressed by anything.
Great movie? How was it Ma? Ehhhhh.
Good food? How was it Ma? Ehhhhh.
Birth of your children? How was it Ma? Ehhhhh.
Watching your first grandchild (Jon) be born? How was it Ma? Ehhhhh.
SpectroMagic? How was it ma? Wowwwww!
This woman has her priorities right!
After Spectro, I grabbed hands with Jon and we formed a chain of human beings so we could head over to our Wishes spot.
Yall who are TGM fans
yall know which spot I speak of.
The best spot in the
whole woild to watch you some fireworks.
And lemme tell you
were it not for the human chain
I would have no family to speak of.
Most of the throngs of people seemed to be leaving?
WHAT?
Leaving?
Why?
What are THEY thinking?
Its Wishes people. The most inspirational, beautiful thing in all of WDW. Now
get the heck back here
grab hands with your loved ones
and be inspired
dang punks. This is meaningful stuff. People really tick me off.
Heh heh.
So, we get to our TGM spot
and there are a few people there already.
Yea
ummm
move for my viewing pleasure please. JK people. I would never push people outta the way
like
SOME people did.
We really did end up with a fantastic view of the castle! There was a little bit of a light pole in my view
but not bad! I had again
for the 2nd year in a row
scored some primo viewage! Score for me and the ultimate tour guide that I am.
Last year
we stood directly behind the Castle Suite winners. But, this year
I couldnt find them. I knew Id be tipped off that they were there by their private guide (which sounds like something altogether inappropriate
but its not
heh heh). But, no guide
no castle suite winners were in sight. Hmmmm
where could they be?
And thats when I saw them.
There is a grassy knoll
(not to be confused with any OTHER grassy knolls) next to the TGM spot
for you unknowing schmucks
its near the rose garden pathway...and all of a sudden
I look and there they are! The castle winners and their guide! They have now bumped them from standing (GASP!) to sitting in their own primo viewing spot during Wishes.
I took a picture of them
from behind. Heh heh. On the DL
thats down-lo for you unknowing uncool peeps. My 12 year old taught me that. However, he still insists that I not use such words. But, he explains them to me so that I will be enlightened as to the latest and most awesomely cool teenage-ish non-English speech. Whatev.
Alas
I have no idea where that picture of those lucky-duck suite winners is
maybe it was lost in the Shamu shebacle. But, thats a story for another day.
All of a sudden, the lights click off
and the music swells
AND THEN
Star light, star bright,
First star I see tonight.
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have the wish, I wish tonight.
Eeeesh
chill bumps. There are only a few things in this world that can bring me chill bumps
1. High fever. Not so gud.
2. Watching my son do something fantastic. Very very gud.
3. Brad Pitt, Ben Affleck, Jon Cusack, etc. Gud.
4. Getting caught with my hand in the cookie jar. Not so gud.
5. Wishes. Very gud.
And the show began
Lemme set the mood for you. Ill include some descriptive noises
Boom.
Boom.
Bam.
Crash.
Boom.
Boom.
Bang.
Swish.
Sprinkle.
Wow.
Boom.
Squeak. Just wanna see if youre still paying attention!
Ohhhhhh
ahhhhhhh!
That night, I held onto Jon for dear life during Wishes. Not because I was skeered. Not because he was skeered. But, because he let me
hold him. And we all know
that as they grow older
those moments come fewer and farther between.
I love Wishes. I love the message during the show.
Ive wished for many things during my life. Some Ive gotten
some I havent. Some I needed to ask for
some I definitely shouldnt have
But, what I really wished for on this night
was that I could have many many more moments like this again. Here
with my family
that I love (even my motha)
full of love and happiness and contentment. Here
with my son
who is BEYOND the most amazing kid. Here
where we can forget IT all
and just be. Just be happy. And enjoy each other.
Have fun people. Lifes too short not to enjoy your children.
And then it was done. We left the park
got right onto a bus and back to SSR by about 11:00. We all showered and hit the sack. Even me. Even through all of the snoring. SCORE one for the Gipper.
