Is Gallbladder Attack in the lower left side of abdomen?

Just curious, I keep getting a sharp pain. I already had my appendix out a few years back. But now it's the left side

My attacks were located right below my rib cage in the middle. I don't remember any left lower pain. I hope you feel better!

I believe it would be a pain in the middle right side. Could the pain possibly ovulation? First time I felt it (in HS) I was double over with pain!

My Mom also had back pain. Lower left side pain could be ovarian cysts, or ovulation pain.

That's the classic symptoms although often "dull" isn't a word that everybody gets to use. Sharp, knife like is also used. Ouch!

Yeah, it felt like I was having a heart attach, just on the wrong side! (it's funny now, but wasn't funny at all at the time!)

I guess it doesn't sound like gallbladder. It's more very low, left side. I have a fever/dizzy as well. The two are probably not related. If I don't feel better tomorrow I'll go see the doctor. I think I picked up a bug in Boston on Monday because this started Tuesday night. The sharp pain comes and goes from time to time.

I know two people in the last week who have gone to the hospital for bowel obstructions. One had surgery, one is waiting to see if she will need it. But their pain was horrendous and sharp. Take care of yourself.

That would have been me. Actually more like my whole upper abdominal area was in a vice and it radiated to my back. So glad to be rid of that thing.

I had the "grains of sand" gallbladder and it was a constant dull ache, all the time. Finally had it out and they said it was just full of fine grains which are very dangerous. My "attacks" were not as severe as most people.

An ovarian cyst could cause this type of pain. An ectopic pregnancy as well. If you don't feel better soon, please see your doctor. Either of the above can be life-threatening.

The lower colon is also on the left side. If you've irritated it or have trapped gas, you can also get pain in that area.

I just had my gallbladder out on Nov 18th. My pain was on the left side!!! As everyone has stated it's typically on the right side but my surgeon claimed having pain on either side is not uncommon, especially if it's infected! He also told me having pain on the left side can indicate Pancreatitis so I had my gallbladder out the next day after seeing my doctor. Turns out it was just really inflamed and I had a gallstone the size of a golf ball trying to squeeze into the bile duct. You might want to have an ultrasound done to check it out.
