Is free dining ever offered for part of the food and wine festival?

The food and wine festival starts September 26.

It's said that this year free dining will not be extended past its last date (in other words, your entire trip must be within the free dining promotion period in order to qualify). That won't be known for sure until it's available for booking. If this is true, and the projected dates end on September 27 (this is an estimate based on the ending dates of the UK and bounceback promotions) then one could concievably coincide free dining and the Food & Wine Festival only on September 26 and 27.

If the booking procedure turns out to be the same as last year, one could book a package with a start date of 9/27 and get free dining and the food and wine festival for the entire length of the package.

We won't be able to tell for sure until the promotion is released for booking.

in 2005, it did coincide.
i believe it did in 2006, also.
last year, the last check in date for free dining was 9/22 and f&w started on 9/27, i believe , so only those with longer trips were able to take advantage.

this year, i booked bounceback free dining for 9/27-10/1 and f&w starts on 9/26.

As others have said, in the past it did coincide.People were allowed to extend free dining into the fw festival, as long as check-in was done on the last day of free dining.According to disney , this year ,in order to be eligible for any discount or promo all trip dates must fall within said discount or promotion and may not overlap or be extended.Whether or not they enforce this remains to be seen.

We are booked Sept 26 to Oct 4 with Free Dining. So, with bounceback it was allowed to be extended into those dates. We are excited to try the Food and Wine Festival this year!

It didn't last year, but there was a general public discount code. My brother and his wife got about $400 off of POFQ for 6 nights (MYW 7 day PH, with dining and king bed room) HTH!

We had free dining and food and wine festival in 2007 &2006. We checked-in the last day of free dining and were able to have it through our vacation which was 11 and 10 nights respectivly. I don't know if you will be able to extend it this year but in years past you could.

We booked a free dining bounce back last September for this September. Our dates are the 19th-29th so we are a couple of days into the F&W festival.

Part of the food and wine festival is included with admission to Epcot (exhibits at no extra cost, but you pay as you go for most food and drink samples). There are also paid events (dinners, seminars, or parties), which obviously those interested would need to pay extra for. Some of those paid events take place inside Epcot and also require Epcot admission.

Yes but in a very limited time. We got free dining last year & the year prior and just made F&W festival by a day or 2.

We also booked Free Dining for 2008 and we were able to make our reservation to check in on September 27 through October 5th and we have Free Dining for the entire period... so I guess it depends on the CM you get.... looking forward to the Food & Wine!

My neice and her family also booked a free dining BB promo in Sept. 07 and booked Sept 27-Oct 7 at Pop so they'll be there with free dining during the F & W festival. I know last year you could use your snack credits for the food samples but I'm not sure if that will be the same in 08- seems what's allowed for a snack has changed somewhat. They paid a higher room rate for certain nights once they went from value to regular season but the entire trip has free dining.---Kathy

This is entirely a guess but - way, way back in 2005, the first year of both the Disney Dining Plan and the Free Dining Plan promotion, even though the snacks were limited to the items actually listed in the 2008 DP brochure, SOME of the samples at the Food & Wine Festival could be purchased using a snack credit.
