Hi ya'll!

We are hunkered down here on our THIRD floor apartment near Disney.

To be prepared for this one, we cooked. We have fried chicken, macaroni salad, candy, 2 batches of cookies, tons of cooked pasta, soda, chocolate kudos and Easy Mac. Oh, and I can't forget the chocolate cake, pepperoni, cheese and crackers, bologna and two fresh loaves of homemade bread.

Frances is going to make me VERY fat!!! Maybe we'll sweat it all off once the power goes out and we sweat for a week!

Be safe and Eat well! :D
Holly:eek:

Take care and do not worry about the extra calories I am sure you will work it off after the storm...:(

You are in my thoughts and prayers

Wow, JustHolly!!! And I thought I cooked a lot of stuff! Did prepare quite a bit last night to have on hand if we lose our power. Also have lots to make sandwiches with after we eat all the good stuff. Did the same thing with "Charlie" and I can definitely see a difference in the plumpness of my face already. Way too many carbs!

Oh....it's starting to rain hard and we're having a few wind gusts now. What's it like over in your area at this time?

Hope you're all safe. My mom is down in Lake County and is prepared to eat her way through all the goodies she hordes in the freezer in necessary. Up here you should see how people stock up when there's threat of a bad snow storm. But luckily shoveling snow burns lots of calories. Don't worry about the extra calories just do what you need to in order to make in through and you'll figure out some way to burn it off ;) .

We've had a couple of bands go through, but just some rain and a small breeze. I wish this could be the worst of it. It is not doing anything right now... it is cloudy, but eerily still.

CEDmom, LOL! Don't give Ted any ideas! ;)

We used to stock up for the big snow storms in NH, but we rarely lost power and we could throw the stuff from the refrigerator outside in the snow.

I bought a "misty mate" little fan and squirt bottle for when it gets unbearably hot. I hope that's the MOST we'll have to deal with!

Stay safe! Stay in touch!
Holly

Hi Holly,

You have enough food for an army! LOL I do the same thing when we have a blizzard, (just in case).

Good luck, we are thinking of you all down there. It is been a cool summer here in MN...average temp of 65. Can you believe it?

How are the cats doing?

herc.

Yes me cuz I just keep watching the news over and over again wating to see what happens LOL.

LOL! We just baked cookies! Need to do something with the little ones while we are waiting for it to get here. "It's for the kids!" Yeah, right! ;)

Ok, so we're stuck in our apartment waiting for this hurricane ... apparently everyone else in our building is watching hurricane coverage, our apartment is watching football. And yes, we've got snacks (not just for the football, our hurricane preparation included stocking up on food)

I hate to jinx us, but we still have electricity. FOR NOW! I am anticipating it going off today.

We locked ourselves and the kitties in the bedroom for a good - safe night of sleep. We all slept well, and the cats miraculously did not bother us once!

We're up, it's raining and windy and my belly is FULL! I had peanut butter cookies for breakfast! Shhhhh! Don't tell!

I hope everyone else is faring as well and that you still have electricity! We have been so blessed thus far!

Take Care!

Just saw shots of Orlando on the Weather channel!

Rain is just pelting down.

Hope you keep your electricity!

We have lots of rain and wind north of Orlando.

And yes, Frances is going to make me fat. I made brownies, muffins and after reading your post Holly, I dug out the ingrediants to make a loaf of bread in my bread machine. Luckily we still have power so I can restock the muffins and brownies.

We STILL have power!!!

Boy were we lucky in this storm! I hope our luck still holds out... there is a tornado warning in our area and the wind is still blowing. An exit sign from our building just blew off the breezeway ceiling and crashed against our outer wall. YIKES!

We're almost there! What are we going to do with all this food?

I hope everyone is doing well!!!

I can proudly say that I ate my way through hurricane Frances. We rode out Frances at the AKL. When the storm wasn't going to bad, they made buffets available at both Bomas and Jinkos. We managed to do Bomas twice and Jinkos once. We also had a large store of goodies in our room which we munched on non-stop.
