So pre season starts in short order and then teh regular season will be here we have less than a month till the regular season starts is everyone getting excited?? Well other than you LEAF fans LOL but just think you will get to battle it out with LA and Florida for the worst in the NHL.

Seems there's never an "off-season" for our family. Our beloved Leafs may be on the golf course for part of the year, but our ds plays inline hockey in the spring, summer ice hockey during the hot months, and winter ice hockey from September to March. Add in cheering on the Belleville Bulls (who are near and dear to our hearts) and let's just say that sometimes it seems as if we never leave the arena.

But in answer to your question......we are excited!! I, for one, am looking forward to seeing less of the Jays on our tv and more of the Maple Leafs :cheer2:

In our house, hockey season never ended as DH watched reruns on Leafs TV.
Speaking of preseason, DH, and DS are going to the Leafs Buffalo game on Monday.
And DS started his league 2 weeks ago.

Yesterday, I spent nearly 4 hours online in the virtual waiting room trying to get tickets to the Canadiens-Bruins game on Nov 22. That's the game that they're retiring Patrick Roy's no. 33. Wouldn't you know, that's the first game that was sold-out. After 4 hours, I gave up. Today, I tried to get tickets to another Canadiens-Bruins game on Feb 1. All that's left are tickets at the end of the rink, a couple of rows from the top AND the 4 seats are all scattered in 3 different sections! I guess, I'll have to try for the 2009-2010 season. This is just like trying to get tickets at Fenway Park to see the Red Sox.......impossible!

On the other hand, I bought 4 Bruins-Canadiens tickets in Boston at 12:05pm, 5 minutes after they went on-sale. No waiting room, no problem. And just like last year, I'll be in the minority amongst all of the Canadiens fans. Here in Boston, we're dying for a championship. It's been 36 looonnngg years since the last one :-( and 20 years since they've been in the finals. Well, it looks like we're in for another disappointing season.....but the tickets are easy to get.

DS and I have our tickets to Saturday's Sens/Rangers game!!!

Would you believe our 50 inch plasma tv just arrived today!:cool1: It's dh's fourtieth birthday present. My present was a trip with the family to Disney last summer! I hope I will get to watch some programs on it, but I suspect the majority of the time it will be on hockey with our new dvr hooked up so he can rewind the plays before the ref calls them. Ha!:goodvibes

Leaf fans in September=:cool1:
Leaf fans in Janurary=:scared1:
Leaf fans in March=

In the 20 plus years I've lived in the GTA it never ceases to amaze me how so many people ever year set themselves up for a let down.

I have my pre season tix for Montreal in Detroit and I have season openers for the Wings (the wife is a Wings fan) So we are going to see them raise the banner. I am also going to Buffalo for 2 games against the HABS and we are going to Montreal to see 2 games this season. My relatives in Montreal have some seats for us. I can't wait to get the season started our 7 year old daughter is kinda upset with us we are taking them away in Oct for holidays and she is mad because she id going to have to miss 4 practises and 3 games while we are away.

GO HABS GO

It's funny that you say that as my Dh and his friends have done a pool for about 20 years. DH comes home every year indicating thst this is his year, and he is going to win it all.
Between the entry fee for the pool, and side bets, it usually costs him 150.00.
We have Leafs TV and he was watching repeats one Saturday night in the summer.
DS and I wanted to listen to Q107, while DH wanted to watch repeats of hockey games.
I explained that as we had seen them lose once, there was no need for a repeat.

No way watching the Laffs lose is like the gift that keeps on giving it gets funnier each and every time LOL...

You mean it is almost time to make fun of the Make Beliefs again?

Woohoo.

Would anyone be interested in the hockey pool again? Last year we had a yahoo pool, straight up goals and assists.

As I explain to my son I have never seen a parade celebrating the Leafs winning the Stanley Cup, but I have seen 2 after the Jays won the World Series in 92, and 93.

A little OT, but starting tomorrow, I am officially a NEW HOCKEY MOM! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

My friends think they'll have to sedate me for games, because they've witnessed my enthusiasm (all positive ;) ) at soccer games. LOL

Oh, and we do have a new 50 inch plasma with HD that my DH is looking forward to his Leafs TV this year. :thumbsup2 And for those of you :rotfl2: at this comment, just remember, TRUE fans never waiver. :goodvibes

Ok gang, if your interested, here is the league information.

It is a Yahoo league (go to Yahoo Sports - Fantasy Hockey). You are looking to join a private (or custom) league. The league id# is 45082, the password is mickey.

The pool is set to be an autodraft (yahoo picks the team based on their rankings.) You can edit the list if you wish. I will set the draft date as we get closer to the season. The scoring categories are just Goals and Assists.

Here is a link to the team page but I'm not sure if you can access it before joining the pool.

Hope to see you all there.

Thanks for starting the pool again I am all signed up.

Well definatley excited about hockey season, but that won't last. I am alas a Leaf fan. DS is a Sens fan!!!!!! At least he isn't a habs fan so we can let him live in the house:duck: :lmao:

Just so I can have a team to cheer for that wins I cheer for Calgary but my heart bleeds blue and white:yay:

Excited this year however, that we just bought a 46" LCD high def TV and are loving it for football and baseball so can't wait to start hockey season
