Thinking of going the last week in April or the one of the first couple weeks in May. Is this a good time? I hear its a good time to go and that there are no waits for rides.

My sister went last year at that exact time, and said it was beautiful. The Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot is at that time as well. I believe that the festival brings in some people, but she said that the crowds were not too bad.

It typically is yes. We went third week in April of 2009- crowds were very managable. More crowded than end of September, but as long as you knew how to tour-- you never had to wait much at all. A lot of it depends on when Easter and spring breaks fall.

It's a great time to go, but I wouldn't say there are no waits for rides. I usually go every Sept, Dec, and early May. May crowds are less than Dec, but not as light as Sept.

In 2011, Easter is at the end of April. Easter week is one of the busiest times of the year at WDW.

That said, we have gone several times in April/May, and when it isn't Easter week, we have done very well with both crowds and weather.

Normally, the end of April/first of May is a great time to go, but as others have mentioned, Easter falls on April 24th in 2011, so the end of April next year will be MUCH more crowded that normal and there will be plenty of waits for rides.

We went during this time in '08 and thought it was a great time to be there! We loved seeing the Flower & Garden festival and the weather was perfect!

While I wouldn't say there were no waits, it was manageable with Fast Pass.

If you can wait till after Easter week, I think it would be a great time to go.

We were there this year from April 29-May 4. The crowds were manageable, definitely not absent, but wait times were very reasonable. The longest we waited for anything was 20 minutes and most rides were around 10 minutes. The weather was extremely hot. Most days were around 94 with higher heat indices and it didn't rain the entire trip so there was no real cooling off period. We spent a lot of time in the pools. That said, I think this year was abnormally warm. Last year we went in the middle of May and it was about 10-15 degrees cooler.

But I think it will be highly unlikely that that the wait times will be that low for the same week in 2010, as that will be Easter week. I would plan on the wait times being about 10 times higher than that.

We are planning on going April 30th - May 7th. I'm thinking that the huge Easter crowds will be gone after Sun, May 1st, since school vacations should be over for the start of May. That's what we are hoping anyway! :thumbsup2

We have gone the last 2 years end of April into May for a week. The weather was perfect, not a drop of rain. Not humid like the summer months. Wait times for rides ok if you go to the park early.

Most years, w/Easter occurring earlier in the year, it's a great time to go. The weather this year was exceptionally hot, but that was abnormal from our prior experience.

We were there May 8th - 18th this year. It was hot, but no where near as hot as in August. We didn't see any rain until the 16th, not a drop. We used a lot of fast passes, but even when we didn't we never waited more than 15, maybe 20 minutes....usually like 10. We also got to see the saw the Flower and Garden Festival.

Depends. Most of time crowd is managable this time of year, but end of November to me is best for weather and crowds.
