Is Downtown Disney to Contemporary Direct?

Does the bus go directly to Contemporary from DD or do you have to transfer?

You will not have to transfer but you may have additional stops (Poly, GF, etc) depending on their route.

So what will the bus say on the front? Does it list all the resorts it stops at?

Downtown Disney has a sign that lists the resorts and what number (or letter, I can't remember which) to wait at. Then the bus will pull up to that stop. You get on, and you're on your way.
It's super easy.

Yes, the bus will say every resort it is going to. Make sure to read the sign on the bus, because there are sometimes several buses that share the same stop. If in doubt, ask the driver.

If I were you & you have a car, take it to Downtown Disney & not the Disney bus. My family & I have had long waits with just going to Downtown Disney so just incase you will only be taking Walt Disney Transportation, be prepared to wait a while for this route.

Whenever we go to Downtown Disney we just take my Dad's Jeep or rental car & it saves so much time then taking a Disney Transport bus.

I agree with this 100%. We take the Disney buses from our resort to the parks but if we need/want to go to DTD or another resort we drive over in our rental car. You can also grab a cab.

We also agree with driving to DTD! We have waited as long as 1 hour and 15 min. once for a bus to pick us up at DTD. Not fun! If you won't have a car then the bus will work.

After our experience at the Poly trying to get a bus to DD and then trying to get back again, we will drive there from now on if possible.

We always use the bus to the parks and haven't had a problem, but the DD trip was a nightmare.
