Is Disneyland as careful about food allergies as WDW?

We have a couple of kids that are travelling on our trip in January that have food allergies or aversions. Is Disneyland as meticulous about accommodating food allergies and aversions as WDW? Do they have a form like WDW that we can fill out ahead of time? Does anyone have any experiences they can share?
TIA :goodvibes

Yes. I don't think they have as much leeway for providing alternative (I've never heard of them having soy dream or rice dream, for instance), but they certainly do not want people to become ill.

Call Disney Dining, ask to speak to the chef in charge of food allergies. You should be put through to voicemail; leave a detailed message with your name and phone number and the problems, and they should call you back asap to help.

When I called, with a question about a rumor involving vegetarian items (unfounded rumor; if it says vegetarian it IS vegetarian), I spend an hour talking with Chef Chris, and they really do care. They had even made a raw lasagna for a raw foodist, at one of the hotel dining places, a few weeks before I called.

Then make PSs with the allergies noted, and remind the server.

What about counter service? For the most part, the kids are going to be eating there... what's the best way to handle it? So far, I know of a nut allergy, an allergy to beef, and to berries. Oh, and there is someone who is lactose intolerant.
Thanks!

Every location, including ODV have ingredent listing at guest request. Just ask the cashiers before ordering and they will provide you with that info. If no info is provided, feel free to ask as they will ask their lead/manager for more details. But everything is posted somewhere...

My good friend has a dd with a severe peanut allergy (she carries an epi pen with her at all times). At DLR the mom had to basically ask at every CS and ODV place for an ingredient list for everything she ordered so that she could make sure there was no chance of cross-contamination. I think you need to prepare yourselves to be your best protection and don't count on Disney doing it for you.
